Happy Halloween

So I really didn't realize until about 2 o'clock this afternoon that I was going to be leaving in less than 24 hours to go to Dallas. It's been so wild around here with 2 Halloween parties, packing, and getting stuff for trick-or-treaters!

But to make this fast short and sweet... here's what my little pumpkin was this year.

Drum roll please.....

I thought this was the best costume ever and I feel completely in love with it. I love Tom Arma's designs.. his costumes are always so amazing! I got the idea from the post when I was talking about Baby Sinclair from the TV Show Dinosaurs. I wish I could of only found this costume in adult size for John.

Boo Boo just loved his costume. Sadly it wasn't cold for once this Halloween. Lucky me.

But sadly this is what I will be missing out on while I'm at a wedding and spending time with family.

(No I didn't forget my husband, I figured you knew DUH!) Metallica BOX SEATS! UGH! John won these and they HAD to come into town while I was gone. What losers.

And poor Alex is cutting his 5th tooth (mom just knew it, she's so lucky right before a trip) and has an ear infection to top it all off. But thank goodness I caught it in time and the doctor said he should be fine for the flight. Now lets just have an awesome trip both ways like last time. Here he is exhausted and so ready for bed, the milk always does him in.

I'll have plenty to update with family, a crazy Jewish wedding and the wonderful heat.

But in the mean time have a happy, safe Halloween everyone. =)

Clapper

Well life around my home hasn't really slowed down very much, and I feel like cleaning my house has turned into this huge struggle especially now that I will be leaving this week. The weird thing is I was counting down the days for my first trip to Dallas and I didn't even realize the 2nd trip was even coming.

I thought I'd talk about Alex's and his crawling.. well I need to confess something really. Remember how I talked about being worried about him crawling and not knowing what I was going to do with myself? Well because of that I haven't put him on the floor much to practice. I know I know.. Leah wake up! It's going to happen either way.. I'm just delaying the inevitable! I know he'd probably be all over the place by now but then I'd have to do the following, clean every day because I hate filth, watch him constantly, and probably lose my mind trying worrying about what he's going to try to put in his mouth. But I've decided to be a normal mother and let him crawl, I've seen him do all the motions he just needs a little practice. I just don't want him to grow up!!

John has decided to finally get his act together and decorate the outside of the house for Halloween. I still haven't posted some of the inside pictures but I figured I'd add both when John got all the outside decorations together. We even had all the neighborhood kids sitting outside watching us putting decorations out (ok let's be honest I was chatting it up with the girls) and they were "oohinng and ahhingg" and some were even scared. It was cute and I think John got a kick out of it.

Speaking of the girls, I've found another positive thing about Provo. Probably the only reason I haven't driven John nuts about moving somewhere else is because of all the nice ladies in the neighborhood! Everyone is so nice and inviting, and we get together a lot during the week. It helps me keep busy and really makes the time go by, and they all have such adorable kids! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't make friends around here yet.

Alex's has learned to pull my hair in public and laugh so hard about it when I so "ouch" that I hear something from at least two or three people about how funny he is. That and when I update my blog he always feels the need to help me type about half of my post which causes me to do lots of spell and grammar checks. He continues to throw himself towards the computer even if he's on the opposite side of the couch. I swear I regulate this kid but nothing helps.. he just knows what the computer is!

Oh ready to get a nice wonderful laugh out of this? Ok well it's not actually that funny, at least not to me but I think Alex has a molar tooth coming in. Lucky me right? If it's not one thing with this kid it's another! I haven't even really gotten a break from the top two! Sometimes I wish babies were born with teeth, and then I realize I would of never breast feed. Why couldn't I be lucky like Mandy and Alex be like Mads and wait until he was almost a year to get his first!

Everything is happening early for Alex and as great as most of your people think it is, I feel like it's going by to fast and he's growing up way to quickly! Ok, enough of the depressing moodiness from me.. here's something cute I'd though I'd share.

FHE

Well Family Home Evening has gotten a lot more fun since Alex was born.. now don't get me wrong it's not that it wasn't fun before he got here but it so much more fun being able to involve him in everything!

Activity this week, carving pumpkins! One of my favorite things to do, and I'm usually pretty good at it. Every year John and I carve our own pumpkins, but I think this year we are going to go up and beyond and do a bunch because they are so much fun!

Last Year..

You can't see them very well but I did a crazy pumpkin face and John did a two-faced guy.

This year's theme.. "The Nightmare before Christmas" you know Christmas is coming up and I love the movie! i watch it every Halloween and Christmas!

Before

And like I said I love FHE because we always get Alex involved in on all the fun stuff, he was dying to play with all the pumpkin guts but there was no way I was letting that happen. I knew Alex & John would have a baby food fight in my kitchen and then they'd both have to clean up. And knowing them it'd never happen.

And even though I won't be here this year the guys in the neighborhood want to get together and do a Haunted House fot the kids.. and since we have such awesome Halloween stuff who do you think volunteered their husband first? Yep! I know John will probably sulk otherwise cause he knows how much we both love Halloween.

After

Only a little over a week until it's here and I get to go to a fun Halloween Party before we leave on Friday! I'm so excited to take Alex around in his costume, especially since it's gotten cold!

The Crazy Ferguson Home

Oh man has my life suddenly gotten crazy, I had no idea that the weekend flew by and tomorrow is Wednesday. I'm shocked and going a little crazy. We went to the Pumpkin Patch, are doing weekly BBQs and Saturday morning breakfasts with our neighbors, I've joined a book club/doing more enrichment activities, a baptism, and this crazy weather! Oh and don't forget my keyboard cracked (I'm secretly blaming Alex, I think he gets on it at night while we're asleep.. but shhh.) and I had to go get it replaced! AH!!! Don't even ask how I fit exercising almost everyday but I do! I'd probably lose my mind with more kids!

Well the Pumpkin Patch was WAY fun and Thanksgiving Point was SO great! We went during the day and I almost got bummed because the lady told me only schools were only allowed until about 4pm. But after a minute talking to another worker they welcomed us in and FOR FREE! I love when I get things for free and I saved almost $25 bucks to go in for 30 minutes and take pictures and buy pumpkins. We had so much fun and despite Alex's facial expressions he enjoyed himself, he just hated the fact that the sun was in his eyes and his sunglasses didn't fit any longer.

I love these things! They are so much and Alex kept looking at us like we were nuts to put his face up to them! He was like "Uh mom this is what the cool kids do here"

He loves the pumpkins and was trying to take them all home if we'd let him (We had to slowly back away cause heck those things aren't cheap! And Alex was trying to pull a whole basket home!

Ah.. Father and son.. John thinks Alex will learn to love Halloween and has started to let him play with fake rats and cut off heads.. oh a mothers dream

Ya he reminds me of those Mafia bosses in like The Godfather in stuff, always so serious

Ya ok I've been lying how big he is, John accidentally zapped him and he's so tiny he fits in our rocking chair.. hehe that's definitely not the case!

So I found a few things that I do love about Provo, all of my neighbors are in my ward and they love to get together every weekend and have a potluck bbq and do potluck breakfast on Saturdays. Everyone has kids and it's so much fun to get everyone together and talk about things. A lot of them have babies around Alex's age and they all get to play together and enjoy each others company! I knew it'd take awhile to find fun things but I'm glad I'm starting to lighten up and find things to enjoy about living here

My ward is SO much fun and so involved in all kinds of things! Book club and enrichment! I'm so glad that I joined a book club, I love to read and read ALL the time (or whenever I'm not going crazy running errands and my house is quiet) I haven't gotten to really participate with enrichment just yet because we've had the missionaries over about twice a week enjoying dinner! But the activities look like way fun! My previous ward was huge and I always felt like I could never participate in anything cause it would get to crazy.. well this ward is the perfect size!

Speaking of missionaries begin over all the time, they've been doing the discussions for a friend of our David who got baptized this prior weekend. It was so fun to have the missionaries here they bring such warmth here and you can definitely feel the Spirit when they walk in. One of the guys is from Tonga and the other from Alberta, Canada. After getting to know both of them we've all become close and have actually decided to plan a trip next year to Tonga. I'm actually so excited because I've always wanted to go somewhere interesting and I think this is the place. Enjoy the beach, good company and wonderful people.

Oh man and this weather! I can't believe it was almost in the 80's this weekend and Alex and I go outside today and it's in the 50's! We were in shorts and we had to run inside cause it was so cold today! (Ok I ran.. Alex got a free ride) But I hate that about Utah it warms up.. gets cold warms up.. gets cold.. and then keeps getting colder! Make up your mind already! But good thing is I got Alex some more shoes and some warm accessories, I think I'm done for awhile on things. Unless I go back to Park City and go to Hartstings.. (definitely the cutest, funniest, and some time best deal place EVER!!)

Oh and the computer.. ARGH! It was definitely a Manufacturer's issue but of course even with the extended warranty and my computer not even being a year they don't cover it. They say it's my fault.. until I found an awesome store who found a way to charge apple with using my extended warranty and not costing a dime! I feel like I'm getting all the luck in the world right now!

Other than my life being crazy, I'm getting ready to go out of town and get together with a few friends! I love the fact that we are spending time with tons of people right now.. Alex loves new people and kids! (Especially the babes) Oh and Alex now enjoys being held upside down and puts his pacifier in and out of his mouth. It's great until he decided to throw it!

7 Months Old

Those are probably my favorite PJs that he has!

Alex is 7 months old and I can't believe it!
Here are a few highlights:

Eating tons of Solid food including, fruits, veggies, and meat
Loves certain table food
Is doing the Army Hussle and trying to crawl (will crawl if computer is out of reach)
Says "DaDaDaDa" (No hope for Mama to be his first word)
Sleeps 12 hours a night and 3 nice naps a day
Seems to know his name when it's used
Will do anything to get 20 minutes of computer time a day
Sits up with no help or me worrying he will fall over
Laughs hysterically when tickled

If it's not one thing it's another.

Well I really have tons of stuff to blog about but I figured I'd break into a few semi-long blog entries instead of talking every ones heads off and getting bored about halfway through. This last week has been so crazy for us, with the weather changing, my house on the fritz, stocking up on new baby clothes, waiting anxiously for Alex's costume, and Alex trying to break out of the house. (Ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little)

So weather; I'm so glad that it really started to cool off because I'm able to enjoy the windows open during the day and going for walks with Alex and being outside a bunch. Ok I honestly hate the heat here, it's just flat out irritating. Dallas comes in #2 and New Orleans takes the cake and comes in at #1 just because they are both humid. But it gets so ridiculously hot because we are so much closer to the sun.. I feel like I'm burning here in the summer! Ok I actually do burn, something I've never done in my entire life!!

Hey I love the cold weather and I'm not the sick one over here so lets got out and find some babes!

But with cold weather comes colds.. John and I both have colds and lucky for us Alex is happy, bouncy and cold-free. He must be some mutant child because he's with us all day and doesn't seem to be getting a tiny bit of being sick. He must definitely have more of John's genes then mine because John gets sick once a year and I use to (before moving to Utah) get bronchitis 4-5 times a year, plus a few colds and sore throats. Lets just say that I was always sick as a child and should probably be kept in a bubble. Every sickness I was around I usually caught and was sick twice as long as other, pathetic really.

Now with wonderful chilly weather here (which has decided to warm up the last day or so) I had to go bargain shopping for new winter clothes for Alex. I bought a few things a week or two ago to test out what size Alex was wearing and to my surprise he just skipped 9 months. Ok I really wasn't that surprise be he doesn't last very long it anything anyways.. that's probably the reason I "bargain" shop for clothes instead of buying the expensive stuff. I kept in under a $100 bucks and bought a full stock of 12 month winter clothing (Ok who is joking I'll be lucky if he makes it through Christmas) from 2 of my favorite brands Osh Kosh and Carter's. And then went to Kohl's and got a sweet deal on a Carters coat (which are actually kind of expensive! I mean come on people it's baby clothes why price it so outrageous!) Alex now insists that he will no longer be held or in his car seat when we are in the stores he must sit in the cart and be able to socialize with everyone like an adult. He's thinks that if he makes a few friends a day he's doing well, but would prefer more of them to either be nice older ladies or other babies he can flirt with.

Who knew going shopping would be so much fun, I love playing with my clothes!

Speaking of clothes I ordered Alex's Halloween costume on the internet and after a few days of waiting and hoping that it was actually shipped and arriving I found a nice USPS box on my porch. It's so cute and it's exactly what I was hoping for! I wanted to shop a small snippet of what it looks like but I knew I'd probably give the whole thing away, so you'll just have to wait until Halloween to see what an adorable animal he is. Ok I said it, he is an animal.. you'll have to use your imagination from here and I know animal is very broad but what's the fun if I give it away!

Ok so I've said it once, I'll say it again I hate Provo.. I'm sorry to offend all of you that loved it here but I really just can't stand it. I can't honestly stand my townhouse either, it's in a very nice area with very nice people don't get me wrong but the place is a mess! The previous owners just dodn't take care of it and I'm getting extremely irritated with the management company. We've had a locksmith out here, a plumber twice, a garage door man.. and lets not forget the electrician and someone to fix our window who they STILL HAVEN"T SENT! I hate management companies and in my opinion the are only necessary if you have 3 or more properties that you own. I could go on and on about this but lets move on to something more positive.

Uh mom stop messing with me, I'm trying to practice over here

Alex is chomping on everything with his 2 top and 2 bottom teeth in, and the creeping is starting to slowly turn more into crawling.. and the screaming well that's still around but Alex has a new found talent that his father showed him, and Alex thinks it's hilarious and would do it all day if he could.

He's a little intimidated by dad over there but that doesn't stop him!

Well other than all that we went to Thanksgiving Point and took tons of picture with the pumpkins, bought a few for the house and have lots to say about the missionaries! But that will have to wait until next time.

Not expected.

So life has been a little hectic here in the Ferguson home the last few days.. since my phone is on the fritz still I keep forgetting that I've made plans with friends or arraignments to get things done the last few days. I feel horrible about it but I just haven't gotten around to getting my cell phone fixed/replaced!

I feel so sleep deprived lately too, I've been getting plenty of sleep but I feel like for some reason it's not enough! I mean isn't like 8 hours enough for most people? I can't imagine it's the gym that's wearing me out, and I don't do anything to crazy so I have no idea what it is. No! No! Don't even think it, I'm not pregnant. We still have a little while longer until baby #2 is here, and that would be my luck that I'd get knocked up while I'm on a "full proof" birth control.

Alex's decided to scream and laugh extremely loud at us lately. He thinks it's hilarious and I'm probably going deaf in my right ear from holding him while he does it. At first I thought it was pain or possibly the acid reflux coming back. Nope.. Alex just wants to communicate and screaming and laughing extremely loud is how he's decided to do it. It's cute for the first 30 minutes or so and then I contemplate ear plugs after that. The creeping is turning more and more into crawling and I try to not let him creep very long because I'm scared I'll wake up one morning and he'll be crawling all over the house. Here he is trying to tell me to give him the mirror (he LOVES to look at himself in the mirror) great right? No. Not when screaming-talk is involved.

I've tried to really get into this whole being a cook and what not.. John really enjoys his own cooking and likes things made his way (in other words my food more or less taste like crap) but I've decided to take over. I've gotten some delicious healthy dishes I plan to cook up and they're almost full proof that you can't mess them up *cross fingers*.

We've done a lot of Halloween decorating but I haven't finished and I don't think it's fair to post them without the finished product. John moaned about doing some things inside and then when I gave him ideas for outside he became quite chipper and spent the rest of the evening making me stand in the cold to give my opinion on his newly founded ideas. Whoo hoo.

I'm considering going private once and for all, and after I get done helping friends and family fix up there blogs I'm going for a new make over on mine. You guys are priority, my blog is just a leisure activity for me.

This is what Alex likes to look like after a full fun meal of a bottle and turkey & sweet potatoes. MMM.. yummy right? Actually smells horrible.

The 4th tooth has finally cut in and man were the top two harder than the bottom. I think they we're probably more difficult since I knew in advance by the signs and I had no idea with the first two. All I can say is buy pacifiers.. lots of them and fill them with water and freeze them. Teethers aren't cutting it over here, and load up on either Motrin or Tylenol and stay up on it. A friend recommend Hyland's Teething Tablets .. and they seem to help more with the first 2 then the last 2, but who knows. I just know that I'm glad then end is almost near and hopefully we can have another break for a few months!

Now isn't that a fun face? He's definitely not liking the texture of that green bean, and that's table food for ya!

Ugh I can't WAIT to post picture of Alex in his Halloween costume!! It's SO cute and I got the idea after a post I wrote.
