Oh how the days go by...

Well, I don't exactly know where to begin. I never really thought I'd be creating one of these things just because I never thought I'd really how much to talk about. Not that I'm boring or anything I just never thought someone would want to read about my life. Ah well.. here it goes.

I started creating this blog about 2 months ago and never really got around to getting things finished until about a couple of days ago. You may be wondering why since my family has been asking for weeks to see pictures of baby Alex.. well it's probably because John and I haven't been sleeping more than 4-6 hours since our wonderful baby boy was born. You know I never thought it REALLY was going to be this hard, but in all reality it's tough.. but it's been way worth it. I had a pretty easy pregnancy and John was a trooper through it all with my mood swings, nausea, complaining about gaining weight, sleeplessness nights, and talking about 20 times a day why I haven't had the baby yet. I didn't have a wonder labor either, but lets just leave it at that though.

Well Alex is starting to sleep longer during the nights we'll sometimes get a 4-4 1/2 hr interval and man does it feel like we're gaining an extra 5 hours. I'm like wide awake when I get a full four or so hours.. I have no idea how I'm on about 6 hours daily.. but I guess you do what you can. I got a really bad infection last week and I didn't realize it until it was pretty bad and I had a fever spiking 103 and had to go to the doctor.. I was so drained for the next day and half I thought the world was coming to an end.. trying to take care of a 5 week old, sick, exhausted gosh! But I pulled through and did it all with a little bit of help!

Anyhow.. we went and got pictures done today and man was it a BLAST! Gosh I woke up this morning exhausted but extremely excited. We used peekaboo photos which is such a wonderful place. They do all kinds of photos and at such a great price, and John just so happened to know the photographer from high school. Alex was SOO cute, we did the nude photos (well technically not nude because you don't see his privates) and about 5 minutes in John was posing with him and he pooped in John's hands. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to start crying and I think Katie (our photographer) was more surprised than John was. John called it "baby mustard" and then right after he says that he starts peeing this huge stream everywhere. Lets just say I was so happy it didn't get on John's outfit and I was second to hold him. There are a bunch of him by himself in different positions and then some with John and him, Alex and me and then the three of us. They take about 2 weeks to get back to us and we're sending out birth announcements so everyone better be looking for them in the mail here in the next few weeks!! I'll definitely post the pics when we get the CD and prints going.

Other than that John and I did our weekly night-out with just the two of us, and every time I go out just us it's like I feel like I'm missing something, which obviously I am but I'm always looking around for Alex like I'm forgetting about him. Man I never realized though how great it is to just get a few hours to ourselves but by the time it's all over I'm excited to see Alex all over again.

Libby told me just the other day that Alex is about to turn over on his side.. I was shocked to hear that! I didn't even realize it.. well I did but I thought it was just him stretching! Now I've got to be extremely careful when I set him down on the couch for the few seconds I do. Gosh he's growing so fast! He's already really trying to hold his head up.. he does it for about 8-10 seconds and then head butts me in the face hahaha.

But other than that the days are pretty much the same. Nothing to crazy.. I'm just trying to keep busy. Not that having a newborn doesn't make life busy enough. I'm trying to plan our cealing ceremony here this fall, and I'm actually using Katie's husband to do my Bridal and Wedding photos I saw the ones they've done for others and wow do they do an amazing job!

Here our the newest picture of Alex, some of my favs, and his room:

He's such a cute baby, I just can't get over it :) He smiles, He loves the light from the TV, he's an adorable sleeper and he's just so active!

Here's some pics of his room, I know some of you were asking to see what it looks like, we did a Winnie the Pooh theme
