What.. a blog? huh?

I need to start out admitting that I've been writing this blog post for oh let's say 3 1/2 weeks?? I'm bad at getting things done.

Ok, It's official I don't blog anymore. I'm not even doing great with my photography blog right now, because I have about 10 sessions to post. Thank goodness all my clients have received and seen their sneak peeks and images. I feel like I've been neglecting all of you too! I love reading everyone's blog, and I'm sure mine is fun from time to time but seriously I just don't want to blog for some reason? Oh well maybe I will get back into the swing after the holidays.

Much promised Halloween pictures, isn't he the cutest Lion ever!!

Well on the upside life is pretty great here, and I'm grateful.

Alex is changing so much.. I hate it to be honest, he's so much more independent! He really enjoys doing things for himself like feeding and other random things, he's really curious about the potty (not getting my hopes up) and he's using simple word sentences from time to time which has been quite nice along with his growing vocab. He's pretty much past his moan, whine, tantrum stage for asking for something and finally learning to communicate more. He's also a huge. Monster huge, I swear he's at least 35 pounds because it hit me like a week ago when I picked him up and almost dropped him. Oh and maybe the fact that I had to go buy him new clothes within a MONTH, I mean do some kids really have some clothing that must be 3T at his age? Ugh he totally got John's genes obviously!! He's also giving up the paci all on his on really. I haven't pushed much just like I didn't when he was turning one about the bottle but he's finally realizing he's a "big boy" and doesn't need it. He's SUCH a happy kid though, and so active I love it to be honest, he's climbing and jumping and and wanting to go go go all the time but he's so much fun. Why do they grow up again?

This kid loves the snow, and isn't happy when playing in it is over. He'd play out there all day if I let him!

He wanted to watch "teevee" on my ipod one day and was quite happy once I let him

John is a workaholic. :) But most of you know that and I didn't have to say that. He's been working so hard and is SUCH an amazing business man. I mean I don't know what I'd do without him and all the amazing things he is capable of. I feel so blessed because I know people out there struggling to even find a job right now, and I remember the days we had our own tough times. But it's so awesome to seem him just keep climbing the ladder and doing so well. I couldn't be more proud of him, and how he's such an amazing father. Alex simply adores him, and always asking what "daddy" is doing. Can you tell I'm a proud mom and wife? I feel so blessed really.

Me.. well I'm good. I've been working some, but with the holidays and travels plans we have a lot going on and the winter season isn't too busy. I'm dealing with getting my studio set up and other things done but they're kind of on the back burner. I've been doing a lot of outdoor shoots which have been nice. As far as pregnancy I'm great! To be honest I'm so excited to be pregnant! I'm still holding out on shopping because well, I hope to not go nuts to be honest. Baby shopping is addictive and new baby stuff is always SO fun! And other than all that I'm so excited that Alex will have a sibling, he absolutely loves babies. His favorite thing to do is to try and show everyone my belly, he'll lift my shirt and point at my tummy and go "Oh baybei... cool" haha so cute.

Ok enough bragging :) I think things are really about to take a turn in our lives now, our life is changing completely. I feel like we're on a new start, like I'm living this sort of new life in a good way. I'm just excited for the holidays to be here, we've got all kinds of fun plans!

It just feels so good to know everything is just right.

Surprise!

So before the Halloween pictures and updates there is something I must share. I should of let you all know sooner, and I feel bad I didn't but the reason I haven't been around much lately is.... I'm Pregnant!! =]

Here is a photo from my phone.. you'd think I'd of taken something better but I was too lazy. I'm also so excited because this time around of course being a photographer I'm going to do maternity pictures! I did just newborns with Alex but I really think I'd love both this time.. =]

Anyways I'm keeping this short and sweet. =] I'll be back to post about Halloween soon enough!

So what's new?

Don't ask how I'm blogging once in a few days right now I don't even know how! My life is so fun and crazy right now blogging should be the last thing on my mind! I've got 6 sessions to edit (maybe a few more but I'm fast!) and we're getting ready for Halloween here!

During the workshop (I guess it's still going on) this weekend Alex picked up a few new funny things. He turns the water on for the tub.. the kids loves baths a lot! It's his favorite time of the day I swear. He also like to close doors in the house, he can't quite open them (although he has the handles at the doc's office down they're the easy ones) he loves to lock you in and giggle and knock. His vocabulary is exploding I mean seriously he repeats us and almost always says it almost right. It's weird. Why is my baby talking so much? And GROWING! Ugh.. I just bought you clothes kid cute new ones and you're growing! Stop!! I can't handle it even if I buy them on sale at Gap! Your getting expensive!

Halloween in our home is getting to be a huge deal. Every year I notice it's more and more important. If you know my husband and you all do.. he's crazy over Halloween. He loves it, and this year he's going all out.. he's made some of his own props!! Seriously.. the guy has too much time on his hands sometimes! I will have to post pictures of all these things and his house but I think this year I'm the only one not dressing up!

I'm getting ready for another week long photography work shop in the early Spring. I'm so excited it's in Vegas and some of my close friends who are also photographers are coming! I can't wait to go we have big plans to do a huge photo shoot out there! There are some awesome places to shoot out there I just can't wait!!

And what else? well... I'm bad with pictures. Really bad.. I mean I should be great because I'm a photographer but all of our activities have been when it's dark and outdoors and you try to lug a 20+ camera bag around! We've been to Cornbellys 3 times now and Alex loves it so much!! Every time we go he loves to play on the bouncing bubble thingy and play on the slides and swings. For the last month or so every time we go to the mall he has to play in the play area! He's the kid you see going face first down the slide at the park or play places because he "adventurous" and laughs all the way down. I wish it wasn't getting cold here because he really loves the park!

Anyways... I promise to post Halloween pictures because I know it's going to be fun and crazy!

Man it's been crazy.

I'm sorry I haven't been a good blogger my life is crazy and to be honest I love it! My photography is going fabulous and I couldn't be happier! My son is the most mischievous, talkative socialite ever (wonder where he gets that from)? My husband is so busy with work and his new ventures he's just happy to have time with us! Our family thrives on fun, upbeat energy I think! I love how crazy our life is, but I love our family nights and our date nights too!! I'm so lucky to have such a great sitter & great friends to help out and have their older kids sit for me!

Oh! Big news!! The photography blog is up!! Tell me what you think!! I want to hear from all of you =] Photography Blog

I'm sorry I don't any pictures to post, and you'd think since I am a photographer I would.. but sadly I don't take enough photos of my son!!

I have a huge workshop this weekend hosted by Ali Hohn who is now a really good friend of mine and I've kinda taken over to help host it!! Rock that OCF

Then I'm up to Idaho to see some special people! We've been trying to get together for like forever! Weather stay good please!

P.S. Just you wait Halloween is coming and we've got big plans here. BIG plans if you know my husband he goes all out and I will be taking photos =]

18 Months

This is a seriously late post but better late than never! I can't believe my baby isn't a baby anymore, he's turning into a little man! 18 months already??!! I remember his birthday like it was YESTERDAY!! Alex is changing so much and is such a big boy now. A few of my favorite things he does:

He's a helper, he loves making huge messes but has learned to help clean up when he's done he is even seen doing it in nursery when it's time to leave.

-He gives the best hugs and kisses. He comes up to us like a million times a day to give us kisses and hugs he even pats us on the back when he's hugging us it's quite funny.

-He's a talker, the kid has a huge vocabulary and will talk your head off. He is a little socialite too. He's seen starting conversations with complete strangers almost daily! A few of his new favorite words are Moon, Go, Jesus, Church, Shoes, Yummy, and Buh-Bye, Ouch, Oh and Balloon the kid loves balloons.

-He holds our hand when we cross the street, learning to cross his arms during prayers, and feeding himself with a fork and spoon!! That last one is one of my favorites because he REFUSES to eat if we feed him!

-He's got a memory better than me. He associates things with certain places.. like the bank; he knows when we walk in because he asks for a sucker almost immediately.

-That boy can dance and dance and dance. He even gets all low and shakes his butt probably the cutest thing ever.

-He eats non-stop. The kid is growing like a weed, his 2t pants don't fit him! I mean seriously kid you're only 18 months stop growing! I can't afford you at the rate your going! He's once again off the charts at the doctor.. but seriously should I really be surprised my husband is 6'5.

-Trying to get the body parts down.. he know his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth but doesn't have the rest figured out. He thinks it's funny to point at them and laughs at himself a lot.

-He's definitely a photographer's child because capturing cute pictures of him is nearly impossible he only cooperates when being bribed.

His obsession started at 4 months..

-And he still to this day loves fans, he loves them since he was a baby baby
(notice my picture quality in that first one!)

-He asks tons of questions, his favorite is "what is it" and "why" kid could ask me questions all day if I let him!

-He's so happy and outgoing. I love it. He never has an issue meeting new people and makes friends easily. He's got a ton of friends in our neighborhood!! And a girlfriend... possibly future wife!

I have a shoot with my friend (she's a photographer too) and her daughter (Alex's future wife) and I'm bringing Alex and we're taking pictures of them both together. I've been waiting for the shoot to post these pictures but since I've been sick we've been having to reschedule! I can't wait to post them they're both 18 months!

Anyways... I promise to post more frequently since I've noticed no one checks the blog anymore. It's ok I still love you guys!!

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Hello world.

I'm really busy trying to get work done but I don't want to leave you guys hanging =] I'm going to be conjoining my family and photography blog and will HOPEFULLY have it up this week. I know I've been saying this for the last MONTH! But I've been working really hard being a photographer, mom, cook, maid.. etc. Thanks for your patients I'm sure you are really dying not hearing from me!

Highlights:

I got my logo & business cards designed and the girl who did it did a fabulous job, and I made a new friend!

I got a new camera that I was dying for... I feel like a real pro now, and John bought me the lens I've been talking about for months! My next plan is to get my studio set up! Christmas came early for me.. I don't expect Santa bringing me much this year!

We got new furniture!! So exciting since we've been married three years and never bought much. We got a new dining room table, a couch and two chairs for our sitting room, and a whole bedroom set for a deal. I love all the sales going on!! I feel blessed to have such a great husband!!

John is working so hard and hopefully going to have some wonderful things happen soon so keeps us in your prayers!!

Alex well.. boy he's a crazy boy. I won't say much because I'm going to do a 18 month post.. but he's changing so much! It's so crazy to me because he's such an outgoing talker. I love him so much =]

I tried to post a ton of pictures of Alex but blogger kept washing the colors out.. so here is just one!

And that is that.. I see a few of you want to see more pictures of the sealing I posted them all on facebook so just type in my email: leahferguson321@gmail.com and add me! Blogger takes way to long to upload!

I'm good at disappearing.

So where have I been? I've been working, and doing all kinds of things. And on top of it all Alex has pretty much taken over everything. The boy is growing so fast, saying so much, and being such a crazy kid!

Alex is changing so much now; he's talking so much I can't believe it. A few of his favorites are: Juice, Moon, Car, Kiss, Opps, Yes, Dog, Hot, Balloon and other things. This isn't even half of the words... I just can't think of all of them to type! He's starting to try and climb out of his crib, and he's also really practicing walking up and down the stairs (scary!) He's also taken up coloring and loves his dog so much, they're best pals. (I'm not to fond of the dog myself.) He's also made tons of new friends in the neighborhood and really enjoys playing outside! I'm buying him a little tricycle next week and I think Santa might bring him a car for Christmas. I'm spoiling him rotten while I can get away with it! Oh and balloons frequent our house now.. like every single day. Kid can spot a balloon from 1/2 a mile away no joke and boy is he full of questions. I have a feeling he'll be reading encyclopedia at age 10 just for fun.

My photography business is going fantastic; I've networked with a few photographers who have become close friends. I've also been busy! I received my Christmas/Birthday/V-day/Halloween/St. Patty's/Just because I love you gift for the next few years. I'm all set up to be the most amazing photographer and I'm going to a big conference in March!! I can't wait... I feel so lucky to have a supportive husband to make my dreams come true!

John has been SO busy. He's got great things going on with his job and other business opportunities, somedays it's hard when he has to work late but he's good at what he does AND he's successful. I'm lucky to have such a smart husband!

Other than that, we're still trying to get settled in our house and my photography blog is almost done! I know I keep saying that!! It was going to be a blogspot blog and then I just decided to go hosting. Much easier, and I'm considering conjoining both blogs I can't do two right now! I'm just so busy I can't even think about talking about my life let alone blogging about it!

I knew he was the one.

So this August 1st is going to be a very important day for us. It's our 3 wedding anniversary, and this year is a BIG deal we're getting sealed! I want to bring you guys back to how we met, and let everyone know how special John is to me not only as a husband, best friend, but an eternal soul mate. Some of you have heard this, some haven't but trust me my version is the real one... watch out for John's "version" he likes to alter it but you him that's just know how he is.

John and I first met back in February of 2006, at a club. I was out with friends having a great time and this tell dude comes up and out of no where stops and talks to me. Usually I would just totally blow guys like that off but I for some reason I just stood there and had a fun conversation with him! We talked for awhile until my old best friend was on the move and we decided to exchange numbers. He invited me to an NBA FINALS game Mavericks vs Lakers court side seats. We talked almost right up to the day and I ditched him.. I know stupid. I was an idiot. He still gives me crap for it to this day.

I'm one hot mama... aren't I?

But Heavenly Father wasn't going to let us stay apart, and I mean it. Out of a crazy chance at a different club a few months later we saw each other again. He actually texted me! He ended up calling me and I promised to keep a date with him. A week later we went out to dinner that lasted nearly 3 hours until the restaurant closed. I knew right then and there John was not your typical guy and I like that. He spoiled me and for no reason, always doing special things for me and making me smile. We started our card "tradition" where we'd buy cards and write love notes to each other.

He's a lot taller than me (1 foot and 1 inch to be precise) so I can always wear fabulous shoes and oh how I love shoes.

We continued to date and honestly spent almost every day together, scratch that every waking moment together. If it wasn't together we were on the phone for hours (by the way he hates talking on the phone) He took me on amazing fun dates and we never had a dull moment. (Still isn't with him) I knew are relationship was getting serious and I actually quit my job to come up here to Utah to meet his family! I was a little overwhelmed and didn't know much about the Mormon religion. I had such a blast meeting everyone and and that's when I started investigating the Church. How many people get to brag that their husband was their missionary?

After we got home from the family trip to Utah things got even more serious with us! I started taking lessons from the missionaries and we moved in together. One month later he proposed. I knew it was coming, I actually stole the ring! I knew after the second date I was going to marry that man to be honest. I don't think I honestly knew what true love was before I met John. We wanted to stick with the "tradition" that his parents did. He bought me a "mart" ring from Wal-mart to follow along when his parents met and how his dad wasn't letting his mom go! I still have that "mart" ring and I cherish it, but I have to say I LOVE my real wedding & engagement ring.

He always makes me laugh

The day he proposed he took me all over town on a treasure hunt, running me everywhere, putting blind folds on me and surprising me with all kinds of things! I knew something was going on when he got me a cell phone on his plane! lol He proposed where we had our first date playing putt-putt in a suit and cocktail dress and since I already had the ring he gave he a matching Tiffany's bracelet and necklace. Best day ever.. seriously.

Anyways.. we eloped. We decided we didn't want to wait a year or so. I wasn't letting that man go to be honest! After less than 4 months of dating I guess sometimes you just know right?

We make cute babies =] really really cute ones that give kisses and hugs

I mean really he's the most adorable thing ever!

Now three years later I feel like our love has just grown more and more. We inspire each other to do our best and follow our dreams daily. We have a beautiful child and I have a wonderful step-daughter. But I've learned so much for him and he's been so patient with me growing and changing. Because you know we're 11 years (11 years and 1 week to be exact) different right? He literally robbed the cradle =] John is seriously my second half, he always finishes a thought for me and it's like he reads my mind because we are almost always thinking about the same thing. You'd think our personalities would clash because we're so much alike but it's so nice to have someone that's always on the same page and thinks like me.

Isn't this the best picture EVER. It's priceless

This Saturday we're getting sealed to be an eternal family forever. I'm so grateful for meeting him and him doing the missionary work to be a member and be with him forever.

Oh ya.. I blog right?

Ok well I have been busy.. I'm getting repetitive now I know. But the sealing is like 5 days away and I can't believe it! I'm so excited!

This is what is going on:

I'm finalizing all my plans for the sealing.. I keep forgetting the most ridiculous things. Guest Book.. Photos?? huh? I'm so excited it's coming but also glad it's almost over. It's stressful!

I've got my blog up and going!! I've been so busy shooting and I've loved it! I'll be posting the website in the next post to come once I go private!

Spending time with family because I love them so much. I can't wait to see most of you at the sealing!!

John's been working hard on some new business ideas, and helping me with my own business!

This boy loves balloons, would probably die for one. We always have to have at least one around!

Alex... oh wow Alex. For some reason I keep thinking he's been walking for 6 months.. don't ask but seriously 5 months now it amazes me! He's running, learning to jump, and actually learning to WALK up and down the stairs! He has a huge vocabulary when he actually uses it, and lately he's been asking "what is it" all the time and trying to practice all kinds of stuff. He's saying yes, no, go, bye, hi (a favorite), no (another fav), ball, juice, please, thank you, doggie, ballon (says that one funny), lemonade, eggie (for eggs), who is it, knock knock. And a whole bunch more I can't even list. He's also knocking on the door, helping mommy clean up, and learning how to whisper and be secretive. He loves to play hide and go seek with the dog and jump out and scare me all the time!I Almost time for a toddler bed too, that kid is trying to climb out the crib and out of his high chair it's killing me! I can't help but brag though, my baby isn't a baby anymore! And I know you all understand cause he's my first and I'm so proud of him!! =]

The climber

I'm so ready to get back to normal and be able to update my blog regularly! Oh and by the way I go private the end of this week! Get your email addys in, they don't post so don't worry I moderate!

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

It's been decided.

We're going private, especially now that I will have a huge amount of traffic running through my professional blog. I just can't risk things happening with family photos since they're not copyrighted.

Also because I track you all. Yep even you crazies I don't know.. I see everything and some of you make me nervous.

Please email me leahferguson321@gmail.com, facebook me, or leave me a comment (I will make comments private and they won't post. You've got a week, and I want the blog stalkers to leave the comments. =]

I'm just stopping by.

Well I just came by to let you all know I am alive, I have just been busy! I have a lot on my plate this month and I think after all of this I need a vacation.. a good long one.

I've been busy finishing my new blog, trying to get settled in this house, and getting ready for a big moment in our life!

Our move went well... lets just say not fun. The last people who lived here before us didn't take care of a home like you'd imagine. So we've got work to do, but all in all this is a wonderful home it's just a project. Which we both are willing to take on!

Our move.. went even worse. Lets just say our movers never showed and were very unprofessional. But on the good side we have a HUGE amount of help from our old ward and our new ward and saved $300 in moving cost. =]

I've been busy shooting 4-5 shoots a week on top of all of this! Don't ask how I do it, I don't even know but I'm tired! I'm sorry I haven't had time to update you all.. but please call me. ALL of you. Calling is always fun for me.. I miss you all.

I fired my nanny.. I just didn't get a good feeling about her. And she seemed forgetful. I'm looking for someone new as we speak!

I've been buying Alex new clothes since he is growing so much! He loves his new Gap PJs! I love Gap!

Oh and I love seeing family. Love it, them, every bit about it. The 4th was great and all of you that want to see a good show next year please visit my backyard for fun and a bbq!

Before

After

He looks like a little man now!

Boo bear got his first hair cut. He'd did amazing.. and he looks like a little man now. He is now talking more than ever I can't believe he's a talking machine now! He's climbing onto everything, oh and he's feeding himself with a spoon! Whoo hoo! He's saying all kinds of new words it would take me forever to type them all out, I'm just glad he's got a huge vocab! He's definitely got manners now though! He says please, thank you and excuse me! He also is learning to jump!

He has a blast climbing on boxes!

My dress is by far amazing.. gorgeous. Everything I ever wanted. I can't wait to wear it. Rachel is so amazing for finding me Jordan to make my dress.. I got everything I wanted and it was so affordable compared to the $5,000 I would of spent on the dress my ideas came from!

The other plans are finalized... hopefully everything will work out as planned. That's something I just don't even want to get into right now.

You'd think I'd post amazing pictures since I'm a photographer right? Nahh.. gotta appreciate my point and shoot too! Sorry there aren't a ton we had a mishap with our external hard drive.. it's a long story.

Oh and hopefully one of my best friends comes to visit.. oh yes you. you know who you are because I miss you oh so much.

My photo blog is done I just have a few bugs to fix.. look for the link here in a few days!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Boy that was a mouth full wasn't it? I'm just a tiny bit stressed. Ok maybe a lot! I am so excited to move, actually we all are! Who doesn't want almost double if not triple the space to live in? I hate packing.. it's always a pain and I never enjoy it. But because I've moved a few times I've learned something. I started packing a week or two ago and it's completely helped a ton, and now all we have is our computers, beds and a few toys.

**There are no pictures.. sorry in advance. I just can't seem to want to edit/post pictures...?

But Father's Day was GREAT! John got spoiled more than I did on Mother's Day. Oh wait.. didn't we go pick up a dog named Lady for John and Alex on Mother's day? Lol, just kidding sweetheart I love you and you spoil me all the time! Any who, John got woken up and gifted with a digital picture frame he's been asking for, the Forever Strong movie.. and not to be forgotten his new Macbook Pro. Why so much?

Well, a few weeks ago we made the decision that we both need our "own" stuff. Look we're both Gemini's and SOMETIMES we're gonna bump heads. So we decided that we'd upgrade computers and get our own laptops. We both got Macbook Pros which we love (if you don't have a Mac we need to talk... seriously they're amazing) and now we're not having to play the sharing game. We both gotta do work ya know?!

Anyways.. other that.. that's it. Alex is a little anxious because he knows something is going on, but he's still telling me what he wants! He's talking like crazy and I'm really learning to understand the gibberish. He's also growing like a weed and we went to Gap the other day and he's wearing 2T in some stuff now! Gezz kid slow down a little PLEASE! I've also lost some weight surprisingly? I haven't been the best worker-outer the last week because of the move but I'm still dropping the weight. I seriously with it would stop because now my clothes that I actually LOVE are too big! I guess it's time for another baby eh?

Thursday, June 18, 2009

My little talker.

I told you I'd pop in from time to time, I know it's been a hard few days but here I am!

Ok so I've finally done it everyone! I've learned how to interpret the gibberish, and holy cow who would of known? Alex sure is talking and I was worried he wasn't! The kid has to say at least like 25+ or so words and as little talks with the dog and I daily. I really think he thinks Lady is another toddler and will respond back to her like I do. Cute little thing.

Mr. Mischievous

I heard him say about 6 things in about 2 minutes, does it just magically start? Because man the kid was just talking on and on lately and half the words I got and the other I haven't quite figured out. I mean he was like literally talking my ear off! He said yes, please, why, yum, more, and thank you! He's also gotten out of the "shy" stage and tells everyone hi. I hated that stage although it didn't last long and I hope it doesn't come back. He also doesn't seem to be clingy much anymore and that is the HARDEST part of this age and I'm so glad it's dwindling. I think it helps having a nanny, him being around other kids and going out to lots of places! Alex has also started making his own decisions and telling me what he wants.. seriously I thought I had a few more months or YEARS before that started! He's so funny though.. you gotta see it to believe it!

He's also picked up trying to swim sort of? He likes to flop around in the water and put his face under? Literally scared the pants off of me the first time, but he thinks it's fun and he gets the concept to hold his breath. Where does he learn these things.. Sprout?

Lady with her ears cropped

Lady is getting huge, this isn't to much of a recent picture but man she's big! I can't imagine her 70 pounds in a year or so!

Other than that you will all know me as a famous star here soon! lol I won't get into it TOO much, but lets just say I'll be doing some fun stuff in the next few weeks! By the way, my blog is almost ready.. I'll post on Monday the blog address, it's my temporary blog until my website is up!

Sorry this isn't long and exciting but I didn't want you all to think I'd forgotten you guys! Oh and sorry for the bad images, I can't ever seem to take fun pictures of those two when I have my camera out.

We're in the middle of moving officially... pray for me.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

I'll be back.

Ok, so I have some sad news to say... I'll be busy for the next few weeks and I might not get to blog. . . at all. I'm just preparing you for the huge hole in your life, I know you depend on my updates but don't fear this isn't forever. Good news is, are move has been pushed up and we'll hopefully be in our new place around the 27th of June. I've also been SUPER busy doing shoots, editing, being a mom, and a dog sitter. Oh and might I add packing?

I'm really trying to focus on getting my new blog up and going, especially now that I have shoots lined up all the time. But I promise when things are straightened out I will be back and I will run both blogs. Now I'm not saying I won't pop in and say hi and post pictures but my 3-5 times a week posts will be hold.

Just a little taste of what's to come

Just know that I love you all. It will be ok. Just don't call me at 2 am and beg for updates. Promise?

Get ready for my new blog though, it's gonna be sweet. That and I'm building a website and many other things, I'm just to excited.

Best Buds

I had a great weekend this last weekend, I seriously love the weekends and can't wait for fridays to get here. John and I love to relax and hang out all weekend and be lazy! This last weekend was more eventful than the last few because I had 2 photo shots this weekend that went so well! I'm in the process of editing but I seriously had a blast with everyone! Also, I'm trying REALLY hard to have my new blog up and going by the end of the week, I know the waiting is just killing you all.

my two kiddos

Alex and Lady sure do love each other, those two seriously are so worn out by the end of the day! They both take naps at the same time too! Alex loves to play ball with Lady and this is how I caught the two of them all weekend. I never would of thought Alex would want to be that CLOSE to her.

Alex having a conversation with Lady

I think even though we've had our ups and downs with the dog, in the end she was totally worth it. Every single penny.

I got a new investment for my photography, I've been dying for another lens for my camera and since I'm still waiting to get my sb-800 back from Nikon. (It broke.. and it wasn't my fault!) Meet the 3rd love of my life Mrs. 17-35mm what an amazing lens!

Alex has been speaking a whole lot more lately, he now says hi to everyone, thanks us when we give him something he wants. Along with dog, door, yes (along with nodding his head yes) who is it, what is it and where is it. He's learned how to roll his eyes??? Don't know where that came from but it's hilarious, he also likes to spin around in a circle and fall on the ground when he gets super dizzy and he's now climbing onto everything. He tries winking but I don't think he quite has it yet and he also picks up the phone and says hello now, it's hilarious cause whenever someone calls he thinks it's for him! This age is seriously so much fun.

I'm also getting more excited for our move!! I can't wait to have more space, Alex's toys are everywhere! We also have someone who is renting our place, that's a huge relief because I was so worried we wouldn't find someone for some reason! We also met with the Stake President to get the last of our things finalized for our sealing. Sheesh... after a year I'm so ready!

Let's getting things going already.

Hello, my name is Leah and my life consist of days that go non-stop and me trying to be a cook/maid/mom/photographer all a once. On top of all those wonderful things I'm planning my sealing and also trying to pack and move, I do believe at times I am losing my mind and might be on the brink of insanity. But no worries, today I am still normal.

I've been asked, and begged and also threatened to talk about what's going on with my sealing plans.. they're going good, I've just realized why the heck I never had an all out wedding the first time.

The Dress

Ok wait wait. hold it. This isn't the dress, it's a inspiration. I would die/kill/eat worms for that dress. I always have a knack for picking the most expensive thing in a collection without even knowing it. But on another happy note, I found the most amazing lady who's making my dreams come true for my **modest dress. I say modest because if I could have it my way I'd be wearing that strapless Pricilla of Boston^^ I've been drooling over . (THANK YOU SO MUCH RAE! I couldn't make this all possible without you!)

-The caterer, although sometimes flaky on calling me back they seem very tasteful. I just need to pick all the food out which I have a feeling will be a lot harder than I think. I might always well tattoo Mrs. Indecisive on my forehead.

-Have my color theme and invitations all picked out I love the black and white traditional colors (because it's better if it's plain and simple trust me), just need to get the final touches done to the invitations and have them printed. YES you read correct, printed because I am also a procrastinator.

This is the pattern =]

-Finding those perfect fun shoes to wear with the dress, who wouldn't want to wear a pair of $700 Jimmy Choo's. I would, but oh wait that's just not practical. I think about all the photography equipment I could buy with that..is that weird? Although they're not Jimmy's they're still fun and I can't wait to wear them.

-Got an amazing photographer who I can't wait to work with, I'm doing fun non-traditional pictures because I want to be unique! I mean when you spend countless hours reading blogs, coming up with poses and ideas why wouldn't you want your favorite of the two taken of you! Did I just rhyme? Wow, I'm on a roll..

-The reception hall was the hardest, I mean seriously over $2,000 for a room? That's with no chairs, tables or anything. Nope I'm not having it, because once again here comes Mrs. Practical who can dream and imagine that, that $2,000 buys her a d700. We're having it at a fun location, and most of you know. If not you'll see it on the invite =]

-Decorations.. I don't even want to go there. I wasn't even THINKING about this until my cousin's turn my world upside down and came up with amazing ideas. See, told you I'm losing it I mean how do you forget decorations? Seriously. I'm just lucky to have amazing family that have flawless style.

-Flower arrangements, well that's the only thing I haven't quite figured out yet. Let me re-introduce myself again, Mrs. Indecisive. I love orchids, they're to die for really.

Now, do you really have to wonder why I eloped?

All Mixed Up.

Well the news we've had going back in forth for awhile has arrived. We're moving, yep it's true. John and I have talked about this for awhile and we've both actually had mixed emotions about it. We love our ward, and our callings but with us living in Provo and John working in Salt Lake the commute is to much on us. Beyond that I'm practically living at the doctor's office and it's messing with John's work schedule. We're moving closer to family, and closer to Salt Lake.

John is excited that it's a one story. Alex just likes that he has space to run around!

I'm sad but happy it will make our lives easier, I'm happy because it's a house and has a finished basement for my photography/home theatre. I'm sad because as much as I hate how small our place is, I have friends right across the street. I'm excited for a huge fenced back yard, but sad because I have to mow it and pick up poo. (I know you wouldn't to hear that last one) I keep going up and down about it but I know it's right because we prayed about it all. Sometimes you have to make changes to better your life even though you don't always agree.

Oh my how we've grown.. Lady is getting so big!

The one thing I'm not looking forward to is packing and moving. yuck. But I am already starting to pack and go through the basement I'm even considering have a garage sale.. a small one at least. Gotta get rid of the junk! If any of my friends or neighbors close by have an old boxes to spare they'd be greatly appreciated!

Could I even ask for more?

I never know what to expect when my birthday comes around every year. Ever since John and I got married I find myself always getting so surprised when my special day comes. John and I are exactly 11 years and 1 week apart, surprising huh? He's over a decade older than me.. and I find it funny when people who don't know ask how we even got together let alone married. We'll I wont' go into that TOO much but I'm a lot more mature than most girls my age and well I just knew I was going to marry John after a month or two of dating.

My birthday weekend was AMAZING, I say that because John always makes me so happy and does everything to spoil me royally! Whether it be him making me breakfast, taking me to dinner, or buying me cute and fun gifts! I'm actually SO grateful John supports me in my photography business because that's mostly what I asked for, for my birthday. I got some AWESOME antique props for my photography, he tried to by me the lens I'd been literally drooling over for months but it was out of stock. (oh well that's what's online shopping is for!) I won't list everything since it was a lot, but I got a ton of stuff and I love it all! I am so shocked John got me everything I wanted! =]

But besides the gifts John and I decided to spend our birthday getaway up in Park City.. bare with me we had so much fun I forgot to take pictures! I dropped Alex off with Libbie (THANK YOU for watching him!!) and we made our way up to have sushi at the Flying Sumo since I love Sushi so much! Of course that didn't fill John up so we headed across the street to Prime Steak House where they were offering a 2 for 1 Entree and John totally got hooked up with Fillet and Lobster Tail. John ALMOST got the piano payer to sing me Happy Birthday, but I wasn't having it! We then went out for the evening and had fun talking about old memories and I was so pooped I feel asleep!

We woke up the next day and both slept in until 11am I don't remember ever sleeping that late! It's sure been awhile, Alex usually sleeps until at least 9 but never 11! It was so nice to wake up refreshed and not have Alex calling me down the hall or Lady whining to go out and go potty! I think I deserve a day like that more often! John and I then headed home and on the way stopped at this AMAZING Boutique that sold awesome antiques... and everything was 50% percent off! I bought a few great props and I can't wait to use them. I've been looking everywhere for adorable props!

After all that we went to go pick up the dog and Alex and I seriously drove it bumper to bumper traffic for 30 minutes and got maybe a mile until I jumped off the highway. I haven't had traffic like that since Dallas, it was irritating!! I spent some time trying to do a short shoot that I decided to continue next week and then John and I spent the rest of the evening cuddled on the couch watching the Discovery Channel. I know weird right? It's seriously all we watch, I love watching about nature and wild life it fascinates me.. I dream of shooting pictures over in Africa on all the beautiful creatures. Bet you never would of guessed that we watched that huh?

This is just here since you're about to see a ton of pictures at once (I couldn't forget pictures of my kinda cake!) I love Hotels even though I lost bad!

I woke up Sunday to my husband playing with Alex and taking care of the dog, oh and cooking me breakfast! I love when John cooks he is such an amazing cook, and it's always a treat to be able to have both of the kids taken care of and happy! We then went to church and tried to get in for our interview with the stake president but realized it'd be at least an hour with the line we were waiting in and headed over to John Sr. and Libbie's house for dinner! They made my favorite tri-tip and 7 layer bars! It was all SO good I felt spoiled! It's also a tradition in my family that everyone usually calls and tells you happy birthday, but every year my mom and dad tell me the story of how I was born. I know cheesy but I love hearing it especially when I miss them and I'm so far away! My Aunt who is like my second mom also called and every year she brags of how she saw me first! And finally my grandmother who is such an amazing woman never forgets to call me and wish me happy wishes and talk to her grandson! I feel like this day was so special you have no idea!

I really was enjoying myself I swear!

Yum!

Happy Birthday to me!

We enjoyed the rest of the evening yes again, watching Discovery Channel. I'm sad it's over but it was a wonderful birthday and I can't believe I'm 21. I can't even explain how different I look on life and how much I've changed. Boy, I wanted this day to come since I was like 15 and here it is.. here. And it just feels like another birthday but happier than I could of imagined.

He loves Grandma's golf balls SO much.

Here's a shot of what mos of the living and dinning area looks like.

Look at the mess boo made, Ok I helped a little. I so want one of those guns that shoot those discs, they're amazing!

Finally Settled.. sheesh.

Traveling really knocks ya out you know that? I mean I can't believe I went almost 2 weeks without blogging and then got all these posts in this week! I'm glad to be home and settled and I'm ready to prepare some future changes that will be happening around here soon. But I've been so busy now that we bought another car, I'm running errands all day trying to figure things out for our sealing.

The unforgettable face.

I haven't talked about Buster in awhile, I seriously love to update and tell people what he's doing! Alex keeps going through growth spurts which is driving me crazy, his 18-24 months clothes aren't so lose anymore and 2 pairs of shoes no longer fit. (Friendly reminder of why I should stop shopping now) It's so funny because lately I've had someone almost everyday ask how old Alex is and I always ask them to guess (because it's funny to see people's reaction) they usually say he's 2 when he's really 15 months. What can I say he's Jolly Green Giant Jr, and he sure eats like him too, the kid eats like a 4 year old folks. I'm out buying him more food every few days.

He's talking a whole lot more, he still has his days but he's been communicating a lot about what he wants and what his favorite things are like the dog, the sippie and the paci. (Don't ask, really please.. I know I said the paci was saying goodbye but SERIOUSLY he some how keeps finding them!) If I really sit down and try to have him say something more or less after a few times he'll say his "own" version of the word.

He's dancing, every time.. every where. It's so funny because all I have to do is say the word dance and he's off an running, that and he'll try and sing along! Also he's learned to maneuver around things, through them where ever to get where he's going. Climbing is becoming one of his new found sports. He likes to climb up the stairs, down the stairs.. onto the couch and chairs and into the cabinets and dishwasher. I really have to keep my eye on the kid more! I'm surprised he does all these things because I didn't walk until I was 16 months! (I was 5 weeks pre-mature) Alex enjoys running in circles and has picked up walking backwards.. he loves to do it for some reason?

He knows when we're talking about him and he actually runs over and gives us a little smile. It's so cute and I like to do it all the time just to see his reaction!

And something I can be proud of is he's starting to try and brush his teeth by himself, it's cute he suddenly doesn't like me doing it anymore. He also is helping me dress him and undress himself and from time to time "tries" to put his toys away. Gotta get him started early on chores you know!

He's got another best friend besides Isaac. Lady and Alex play all day long and they absolutely love each other, it's much nicer now that she's pretty much potty trained too! It's nice because at the end of the day they're both worn out and ready for bed and they're both nut up until at least 9!

His new favorite things, balloons I might as well buy a helium tank they make him that happy

Maybe I shouldn't wait so long to brag about my little one, there is just SO much new stuff going on all the time it just amazes me!

Other than that I've been busy doing photography and started a new blog, it's not up and going just yet but I will let you all know when it is! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend I can't wait for my birthday, it's just 2 days away!!

P.S. I promise to talk more about my sealing, I have so much fun things going on with it too!

Beach Boys

Before we ended our trip we had to do two things that day, go to the beach for the first time with Alex and go spend some one one one time with Grandma O. She'd been so busy with the wedding we never got a real chance to see her and since it was her first time seeing Alex we had to spend a few hours of at her house!

Uh.. Where am I?

First the beach, when we got there I didn't know how Alex would react to the sand and ocean. Alex didn't really like the dry sand, I mean who would it's a total workout! I wish I could run on the beach everyday because just walking 30 yards was a struggle with my 20 pound camera bag! He loved the wet sand though he was grabbing fistfuls of it trying to figure out what the heck it was.

Did I ever say that I absouletly love the beach??

And the ocean, well surprisingly he loved it.. he loved being in the water that was actually quite nice after a few minutes of getting use to it. He ran around in it and almost tripped (wouldn't of been good with no towel) and then played with his daddy in it where he tried to splash him! I think Alex considered it a HUGE bath tub and was actually in tears when we had to leave.

My Boys.

Then we went by Grandma O's house to spend time with her before we headed to the airport. I really love spending time with grandparents, they're so wise and wonderful. I loved hearing all about John when he was little and looking at all the pictures she has! I LOVE pictures and all the memories that come with them, I got to see the entire Ostler family grow up. I'm considering grabbing a few for black mail in the future =] We enjoyed lunch there and Alex got to run around and chase Grandma's dog and see him spend time with Grandma. I think it's such a special thing when you're grandparents get to see their great-grand kids. I seriously left Grandma O's house in tears because I honestly hate saying goodbye to family, they're so special to me!

We then rushed to the car rental place to jump on a super shuttle.. yes super shuttle because the car rental place wanted $120.00 to drive us 20 minutes away ridiculous I mean come on that more than double what super shuttle wanted! Luckily we got there on time and then headed to the airport where we arrived seriously 2 hours early. We ate a good late lunch and then I enjoyed free internet for the rest of the time before we jumped on the plane. Remember how I said in the first Cali post how grateful I am to have John with me.. well he was amazing and took care of Alex most the time on the flight back. Even though we haven't taken the long vacation we've wanted it was nice to get away for a little while and enjoy family!

Disneyland

Well isn't that enough in the title? It was Alex's and my first time and to be honest I didn't know what to expect at all. Matt & Katie joined us and we honestly had a blast, the lines weren't to bad and they were SO much fun. Alex really enjoyed himself, anyone who says babies can't enjoy Disneyland until they're two or three is wrong Alex enjoyed every minute.

Going into John's favorite ride Pirates of the Caribbean

So we go there in the morning and the parking was horrible I was really expecting at least 1 hour long rides and people bumping into me every few seconds, I was shocked that all the fun rides were about 30 minute waits and even though it was busy no one seemed to run into to me!

See that face, that's his "I'm not sharing so don't even ask" face

After awhile of riding a bunch of the run rides we decided to get lunch at this joint in New Orleans area, which was so good but who knew it would be $50 bucks for a simple lunch? Alex was sure happy though, and didn't want anyone messing with his slurpee cup. (No I didn't give him the slurpee, blame my husband)

Matt, Katie and I went to ride on Space Mountain which is a super fast and pitch black space roller coaster and guess who got stuck in the front? Katie and I did, we seriously had the snot scared out of us and we were screaming the entire ride! But while we were enjoying it John and Alex got a picture with Buzz Lightyear and got Alex a new toy.

Alex trying to pull the sword out of the stone.. he thinks he's such a big boy!

Alex LOVED the merry-go-round, it was SO much fun he was laughing and giggling the entire time!

Even though Alex looks funny this is a few of the gifts he received from Disneyland, his by far favorite place on earth.

Alex had so much fun and loved all the kid rides, I have to say by far Nemo, Winnie the Pooh, Small World and Pirates was his favorite!

Some of the Ferguson bunch hanging out of the back porch

We decided to leave a little early to go over to Aunt Darla's for a big family dinner for the Fergusons, which was so fun to have us all together even though I was exhausted. We ate, told stories and sung Uncle Steve and John Happy Birthday! In the middle of John telling a story there was a nice earthquake, it seriously scared the crap out of me and I was so grateful to have Aunt Darla next to me. I think everyone was pretty calm and collective and in the back of my head I all I could think was HELP!! It was my first one and John just keep making jokes and laughing, I swear I'd rather be around a tornado then earthquakes.
