The Visitors

Sorry this took so long but I've been so busy trying to do so much and I had so much to say so this is a long one. Last week was even more nuts, Thursday and Friday were seriously crazy for me I was trying to attempt to clean my house while Alex either followed along or tried to assist in any way possible. I had to get the bottom level done the first day, and the top done the second. Probably because I'm a HUGE clean freak and I had to do everything from mop to laundry. I was glad I did it though because I always like to welcome visitors to a nice clean home!

My cousins got in super late, Kim got in at 11:15 and Josh around 12:45 due to Dallas DELAYED flight. Let's just say it was a LONG night, and we had to go get a late night snack at Denny's. Another reason why Provo I can't wait to get the heck out of Provo, why is it packed at 2:30 in the morning?? And I won't even start on the rude and obnoxious college kids (don't worry not every college kid is that way) and the service was HORRIBLE! The food was cold and I've never ate french toast that tasted like socks. I am boycotting Denny's for life.

Who wouldn't do things like this after getting in at 3 am??

We're seriously not afraid of acting out in public on a regular basis

But.. after sleeping in we spent a full day up at Park City! I've never in my life shopped so much and I shouldn't be surprised because I had 2 people who LOVE to shop with me. Alex got a TON of stuff for his birthday, both my cousins and I had to buy every cute thing we saw. I love going up to Main St. in Park City with all the fun boutique shops, I could spin hours and a butt load of funny there. And to our surprise we saw Ray Liotta in a coat store, he is one of my FAVORITE actors. I loved him in Good Fellas and he's done all kinds of amazing work. But I didn't go up to him and ask for a picture because I can only imagine how often he gets that and how annoying it can get. But he did talk with John since they both had a similar coat in mind for buying.. I'm not going to say I wasn't completely jealous.

Alex over shopping and thinking it;s time for a nap.. don't you love that hat? I wish they had one that fit him!

Since my cousins are Rossignols who wouldn't buy things with your last name on it??

We shopped until the sun went down, and then went to eat Indian food. When Alex made us laugh hysterically and the whole restaurant thought we were looney. It was so funny, and you have to see the video on my facebook. We stayed up late and talked and had to catch up, it was SO nice to have family to spend time with. My cousins are more like my brother and sister, we have such a close family we joke around on each other like siblings.

That's Mr. Pro coming down the bunny hill and me following.. I swear I've never seen someone pick up a sport so fast!

Us EXHAUSTED I mean completely tuckered out. Can you tell?

Towards the end of their trip we went skiing, which was honestly not as easy as I'd thought it be. Right when I was about to give up I mastered the bunny hill, and my cousin Josh who was a 1st timer also, had me beat still. We decided to find a beginner hill and lets just leave it at I should of stayed on the bunny hill a little longer. I was surprised that I did so well, and I'm considering buying my own gear to get me to go more. My cousin is definitely in love with skiing and buying all his gear asap. Kim watched Alex the entire time because she doesn't like skiing and they fell in love with each other. She's going to make an AMAZING mom.. I've never seen someone so sweet and patient!

Alex waving for the camera.

The day they left we all went to Cafe Rio which they loved and Kim and I got mani & pedis cause I most definitely needed one. Alex got spoiled more and I got my hair cut before Josh left THANK GOODNESS! I trust no one but my cousin with my hair after the horrible experiences I've had in the past. And I've decided to stop coloring my hair since I love it natural... blonde is fun but ends up destroying my hair in the long run.

Their favorite part, seeing things like this.. the scenery was beautiful is all they could say

Going to the airport was tough, I hated to see them go. Poor Alex cried and I wasn't to happy myself, fun thing is though we discovered new things about Alex.. well I did. I figured I'd leave that for the next post!

Alex became obsessed with Kim and Josh and couldn't get enough of them! He's such a poser for the camera!

I was SO sad to see them go, but I can't wait to go to Dallas soon. I love being my family.. and I feel like we're getting closer to moving back there. Thank Goodness, I don't know how much more I can take!

Valentine's Day

I'm a little late on this one but no worries. I love an excuse to do something special for the man I love whether it's just because I love him or because they're is a day dedicated to it! I can't get enough of Valentine's day and was honestly counting down the days until it was here. I never really plan things for big days like this, John always enjoy it and loves to surprise me. (I hate surprises btw) But we actually kept it simple and sweet this year because we knew if we went all out Alex would have a hard time being included!

Friday night my wonderful in-laws offered to baby sit my little munchkin so John and I could go out to dinner and enjoy some amazing food!! We went to Market Street Grill--YUMMY! Every time we go somewhere we always see people we know! I was chatting up with a girl I didn't know and a few minutes later after they get seated we see them seated with an old high school friend that John knew, his name was ironically John lol! We talked with them because we were somehow placed right across from them and then ordered away. After dinner it was pretty late, and we decided to go pick Alex up who was knocked out from having fun at Grandma's!!

John actually gave me my gift Friday, which was a tanning pass because who wants to be white and pasty? No just kidding! For some reason I've always enjoyed being tan and I feel like cause we never get a lot of sun here in the winter I need some Vitamin D! I also got 3 dozen red roses which I love, and it was because it was our 3rd Valentine's Day together. I just want to know what he's going to do when we hit 20.. or even 50 ! So I got up super early Saturday and went tanning while the boys were still asleep and ran and got the Jenny and the boys gifts! Oh and did I mention it was coming down with snow? The last time it snowed on V-day was when I was like 14 in Dallas. YES.. Dallas!

My sick yet very happy baby, there's his new funny face

I then came home to a baby covered in a rash.. yuck. His clothes got mixed it with some fabric softener and he was broken out everywhere, we went to the doctor to be safe. After finding out he'd be just fine and because he was acting completely normal we went on with our day. We went to buy Alex some birthday gifts and to get John's gift his pen tablet that he's been talking about for weeks. They were sold out everywhere and THANK GOODNESS for BYU Bookstore because they had plenty. We had to go buy Circuit City before they closed down forever and I was shocked to see how must stuff was already gone! We were investigating TVs, and then decided no because we'd never sleep with one in our room again. I had to go by the cameras, I figured all the nice ones would be gone and it's always nice to dream right? I then felt my mouth drop, I saw them add about 10 boxes of Nikon SLRs. Something I was hoping for on my birthday! I started looking at the D90 and thinking and wishing and hoping I could have it one day for school. Then John surprises me and buys it for me, I totally freaked and couldn't believe it I almost died!! (I must say this, it's part of birthday and v-day cause we never go THIS big for are special days.. we're not rich ya know! hehe) After that we went and bought John some new clothes and I swore to myself I WOULD NOT even think about it.. but in the end I did a little.

We enjoyed going out to dinner again that night and then just sat around and snuggled on the couch with some movies. Alex passed out early and we were able to over all have an amazing Valentine's Day!! I got royally spoiled and I haven't put my Nikon down ever since.. I can't wait to use this for school!!

11 months old

I can't believe it's almost that time that Alex is a year! I'm really trying to get the planning done for his birthday and I can't wait until it's here! Everyone has been mentioning that I'm going to be going "all out" and making a big deal and I say.. nahhh. Ok who am I kidding? I'm trying to make this crazy looking cake and searching online for party supplies! I'm getting a little coo-coo over it lol. Here is the big man around here drooling cause he's got more teeth uh coming and is taking everything out in his way!

-Officially saying no to baby food and only wanting "big boy food"
-Saying Hi, Ma-Ma, Da-Da, Ba-Ba, trying to say wa-wa (water) and no.
-Starting to walk by himself some, still face planting a little
-Standing up by himself
-Getting the hang of crawling down the stairs
-Destroying a perfectly tidey home
-Trying to eat with a spoon sort of?
-Waving Hi and Goodbye (very cute)
-Dancing and pretending to sing
-Making new funny faces
-Eating more than I could of ever thought a child could normally consume in one day
-Becoming very clever, trying to do or "act" as mommy/daddy (GREAT!)
-Working hard to kick the bottle
-Turns his head to the side to be cute or to look around us
-Loves to give kisses <3

It's funny to see how much he's change even recently, he has a full on personality and is SO happy and funny. I love to watch him get into everything and explore the house even if it's a pain to clean up. He loves the dishwasher and the dryer and can't get enough of it. I can't wait until he walks full on all the time because I can get a load off my poor back, I'm just amazed how fast this year has flown by. I never would of imagined I'd fall so in love with that little man.. he's the happiest, smartest, cutest baby ever! He's honestly the love of my life, him and John. I'm so grateful to have to amazing boys that love me so much.

I've had a busy/crazy weekend and a busy week preparing for family in town, I promise to post about Valentines Day!

Love Day!

I have to say that I never for some reason really go into John and how amazing he is. I love him so much and I still can't believe Heavenly Father blessed me with him. He's honestly my angel and my best friend, I love him more than life itself. We've been married almost 3 amazing years and I feel like every year together gets better!

- I love you for always being by my side no matter how easy or hard it's been.
- I love you for always cheering me up and putting a smile on my face.
- I love you making me laugh at all of your either hilarious or lame jokes.
- I love you for being an amazing father and taking turns with me when we have to get up with him when he's sick.
- I love you for working hard to give us everything we could ever need or want!
- I love you for making me a better person that I am today.
- I love you for you, everything inside in out. You're amazing and the love of my life.

You're mine for forever and ever and I wouldn't have it any other way. xoxo

Spring Cleaning..

So I have totally decided to start Spring Cleaning.. I figured if I finally started maybe it'd actually start looking a lot more like Spring outside! We have so much junk that I have collected since we have been married, or stuff that John "thinks" we need. I am donating a ton of stuff to D.I. and whatever is worth using I'm selling on craigslist and KSL. I couldn't believe all the stuff I've found that I didn't even know we had! I totally have to post pictures in another post of all this ridiculous stuff I own and definitely don't need.

Alex is completely in love with his new toys now, guess it took a few days for him to realize that there is so much stuff to do.. every time John or I go into the kitchen he goes to his and starts messing with the pan and spoon.. so funny! He's also learned to give me kisses! It's so cute and I think it's his new thing that I love!! He's also learned that if he drinks out of a sippy cup he can spit it back at you.. not one of my favorites! Walking is becoming a think Alex really wants to do, he gets so frustrated that he can't do it by himself.

He likes to squat now too.. lol. Sad to say Alex's BIG birthday gift won't be coming until probably this fall. John and I decided to get a puppy.. a Doberman actually and unfortunately the dog that was suppose to having the pups had a false pregnancy. So we'll be waiting a little bit longer, but I guess it will give us more time to prepare and the dog will be her in the summer! I am actually so excited, and I know Alex is too!

We decided to let him have a cupcake.. this is what resulted from it.

I also can't wait for V-day knowing John he's got something awesome planned like always and I can't wait! Oh, and did I mention I've become an ebay addict? I'm completely and utterly addicted, I feel like it's my new way to bargain shop and not have to leave the house. Can we say pathetic? Oh well, it's a good way to find things I've been dying for cheap!

Oh and I am SOO thankful that Alex's 2 new teeth are cutting! YAY!

Cruising.

Their is a new movie coming out called Confessions of a Shopholic, and I know for sure they're talking all about me. I've been doing a lot of shopping lately. I've trying to get some of Alex's birthday shopping out of the way, I know it sounds completely nuts but I figured since I had all these coupons and all the things I seem to be wanting are on sale I figured hey.. why not? I promised myself that I would NOT give him any of his clothes early (heaven forbid he needs them with a full closet) and that all of his toys would stayed locked up. Ya, I know I went and did it. I bought more toys, because my kid just needs more and more things to play with, sooner or later someone is going to come over and wonder what our problem is and wonder where our other child is at. But good news is I've picked a theme that I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with.. I love Dr. Seuss and every time I read it to Alex he seems to giggle. So I figured hey why not? Lets do that, it's fun cute and I can work with tons of ideas!

I've kind of had an disruptive week so far, I had to take my car into the shop for the check engine light. I've got to say to all of those people who talk smack about Audi my has been amazing. It had one issue when I bought it, and hasn't had one for over a year until now. It was of course had to do with the whole evap system (which is common in an Audi) but thankfully it was covered under my warranty! And not only did they fix it they fixed the annoying heather blower that started squealing a few days before.. my ashtray which for some odd reason wasn't closing and found the missing button for my seat adjustment! I was praying things would get better and one of the biggest worries on my mind was my car! I feel pathetic saying that when most people are losing their homes, or have nothing to eat and I'm worried about my car being in top shape. But it took a huge stress off my shoulders and put a smile on my face after 2 days of not having it and getting it back all shiny and back to normal. Oh that and Alex has 2 more teeth cutting, and he's been a big box of fuss starting at 6pm, but after two nights of figuring out what he wants, how he wants it, and when to do it things seem to be getting back to normal other than he's irritated. I wish I was as lucky as most people who had babies who only maybe had 4 or 5... heck even 6. Nope this will be 9 & 10, and knowing him he won't stop after that.

Alex has learned to love the toothbrush though, I never knew brushing teeth would be so easy! He laughs and giggles when I use it on him and even if I used it 10 times a day he wouldn't care!! I feel so lucky because i bet most moms have a wrestling fight with their toddlers to get it done. Gosh did I just say toddlers? Man.. I never thought I'd say that. Alex is also still cruising along, he's been doing it for a bit now and just keeps getting faster and learning how to go around objects. Sneaky is more like it, man he just walks and walks with the furniture as much as possible! He's still unsure about doing it by himself, and it's probably cause every time he tries he gets a a nice bruise on his head from falling. He's also found the need to dance, he does it on his knees and also standing.. both are hilarious. I promise to post a video of it.

But in the mean time.. I figured I show you how he's moving around!

Alex is doing this with all the furniture whether he should or shouldn't, especially the TV Stand... grr.

A whole lotta nothin.

How my weekend started out--

-John packing for a scout trip
-Me sick (no surprise there I've been getting a mystery sickness for awhile now)
-Alex attempting to destroy my home.

It all started Friday afternoon and me waking up completely and utterly exhausted and nauseous. I haven't been sleeping well, and being nauseous and tired on top of it didn't help. John hadn't even begun to pack for his overnight trip and I was trying to figure out what to do with my night. But the time for him to leave came fast, and it was honestly kind of weird for me to see him off because it's usually me going out of town. I didn't know what to do with myself and I figured I'd do all these fun and wonderful things while he was gone. I had plans to go get my favorite food.. and ended up buying a shake for dinner at Sonic (I figured I needed a treat since I didn't eat all day), and watching my favorite movie.. changed tome and Alex seeing who could laugh the hardest with him conking out at 9. I then spent the remainder of the evening shopping on ebay (which has become a recent obsession, pathetic don't ask) and watching Pride & Prejudice for the 500th time.. by far the best movie EVER. They're just so meant for each other *sigh*

The weekend continued with me actually sleeping in with Alex, and feeling a bit better. I decided to treat myself since I had to hubby to spend time with, and go up to Salt Lake and buy myself some clothes and a pair of shoes which I haven't done in awhile surprisingly enough. (Ebay doesn't count! lol) I then found myself in the baby section shopping for Alex like I always do, I say that because even though he has a full closet full of things and he's finally actually able to stay in a set of clothes long enough I just keep buying. But I found an excuse since ya know his birthday is coming up right? Lol. My friend Patrice showed up with her son Isaac who just turned a year and is totally Alex's BFF. These boy LOVE each other and always do the most hilarious things together. We went around all day out running errands, and let the boys play in the cart and realized that when we go out together the boys want nothing to do with us. They'd rather play with each other and us not get involved. Can I even describe how happy I was??

With John returning from his trip at -17 degree weather and as bright as an apple I knew I'd be lucky to even go out with him on a date. I'll just leave it short, he enjoyed himself but ended up with his last text message that he'd loved me and thought he was freezing to death. But he made it home safe all in one piece, thankfully. Luckily he perked up even though he wasn't feeling well and we went out for awhile and got to enjoy each others company. I'm always glad when we get time together.

We thought we'd get him practicing young to drive ya know? And hey who does like Mario Cart?

Oh and Alex, man that kid is a handful. I've realized more and more that I need to just stop thinking it's gonna get easier. Don't I always say that? He's learning to stand on his own now and can for a few seconds and is almost to walking by himself. He'll only attempt to do it when something is a few inches apart, but it's hilarious how he shuffles his little feet. All I know is that he's getting so many bumps and bruises from his attempts I suspect people think I'm beating the poor kid. Oh and yes, I finally got sick and tired of him destroying my kitchen and our bedroom that I went out and bought him the Fisher Price kitchen and then door/house to go with it. Call it an early birthday present or whatever but I figured if he had a toy he could stand and play with and also have many things to keep busy he'd give me 5 minutes to get the dishes done. It's seemed to have helped so far, but he's still completely obsessed with climbing the stairs and trying to walk. He's decided to also chew and eat everything, he's still teething and drooling everywhere. I'm honestly scared to stick my finger in his mouth to see how the teeth are coming in, because I dare give him the chance to lock down on me.

He look entertained right??

There is that unmistakeable face again, that "oh ya, I'm up to no good"

I promise to blog more, I know if I blog every few days my posts will be shorter and more picture filled. I'm never good about taking pictures of us.. usually just Alex and from time to time John.
