100th post already?

Well because this is my 100th post I figured I'd do a big fun giveaway. I know sounds retarded because I don't have too many people that read this thing but I figured it'd be fun and I got the idea from Mandy. Anyways I'm not a very crafty person but there is one thing I am working on and it would benefit the winner and myself. I'd love to do some free photos for you! No matter where you live I'm willing to make a trip in the future to visit or whenever you come here and you'd get the photos and I'd get to build my portfolio! Sound fun? Well I hope so.. I'll pick randomly and the contest last a week so all your blog stalkers (oh and I know they're are a few of you out there!) who don't comment please leave me one some way or another so you can be counted in!

But on another note this is what's been going on around here:

John and I decided it time to by a Food Saver, especially because we've been buying more organic food (do some research about it, I was amazed) and we have a huge tendency to waste. We eat out a lot and we've both decided it's a good idea to cut back since we have a sealing to plan for. So we spent our Monday FHE evening doing this:

Alex felt the need to help a few times and had a fun time carrying a lime around and trying to open the bag. He's found out what a lime tasted like and kept saying more, more, more. Once I give it to me he looks at me and points and goes mine! Lol

Oh and you know I had to buy one of these little guys. I think subconsciously if I bought one I'd never have to see the commercial again and hey guess what it's been like 4 days and I haven't seen it once! I bought it at Walgreens and not I didn't get the dang Graty!

John has been hard at work designing a few web pages-- Yes even he is a computer nerd at times. I hope to help but I like the fact that he's super creative and such a hard worker. He also helps with a lot of my photography homework, I wonder if he'll get into photography too someday.

Me, well I've been reading.. I've finished 4 or 5 books in the last week, it's kind of become an obsession. Once the series I'm reading really grabs my attention I'm stuck until I finish it. I've also been learning a ton from my amazing Photography teacher who is so kind to me. I have more pictures to post of what I did my last homework session on, I haven't been posting my homework lately I realized. Also we're getting ready for two short but fun trips to Idaho and Cali.. boy I can't wait!

Other than that I've been kinda laid up since I've had about 2 or 3 procedures on my back in the last 2 weeks, I've been doing a little working out but other than that I've tried to keep it mild. I honestly don't want to lose anymore weight because the clothes I have are starting to get lose. I never thought I'd actually say something like that to be honest.. but I guess I just. I hope to get my back back to normal again someday soon I just hope surgery isn't going to have to be the fix. If it is well at least I'll hopefully be better!

Another week or so and we'll have a puppy! How exciting right? I can't wait we get email updates with pictures and videos all the time! They're all so adorable I'd take them all home, and they're getting so big!!

Back on track

So now that we're techinically all caught up.. I'd thought I'd talk more about my son because I don't already do that enough you know? Alex is growing and doing so much more I could tell you he's doing something new everyday if I had enough time to blog! I was worried all that traveling and going places would mess him up (because that's typical right?) No.. not this kid he's stuck on a schedule and won't budge.

Alex has decided he wants to dance anytime he hears music come on, whether it be country, hip-hop, classical.. whatever. Why you might ask? I have no idea but there is a funny story to go along with this. I wish I had a picture of him IN CHURCH.. yes. Singing and dancing as the organ is going and we're all singing, it was priceless and I'm not going to lie I laughed and smiled all at once. In general it's cute but in Church was kind of surprising.. the kids just likes to jam I guess. I really need to catch it on video.

He throws his baby soccer ball to us and around the house along with other objects.. I think once we move we'll be hanging our TV to be safe. It's cute to see him with it though and I think secretly it make John excited for sports here in a few years. The kid could play with that ball all day if we let him.

He's also discovered the disgusting toilet, I'm pretty good at keeping almost all the doors shut and seats down but John forgets sometimes. He's already had two incidents with "playing" with the toilet water and thankfully it was right after the maid came. But he still got a bath and scrubbed down because that's just gross.

One of the not proud moments that he also found a hidden pacifier.

I never thought this would happen either, ya know cause my kids a perfect little angel and all. He has unrolled almost an entire roll and carries and rips up toilet paper all over the house. I know for sure he'll be a pro-toilet house wrapper like his father in the future.

Here he is blowing me a kiss!

I leave you with this, the boy who can entertain himself and make himself laugh over something silly. The end shows what I catch him doing when he's trying to find something he's hidden..sly little boy lol.

**Please all the misc junk everywhere.. it was right before I had the house cleaned.

John wants me to add in there that the blogger upload doesn't do our camcorder justice. It's makes the videos look like crap.. those weren't his exact quotes but you get the idea.

Everyone wants updates on our Sealing and I promise in a future post I will talk about it.. I'm still trying to work fine details out!

I know we're a little late.

We got home from Arizona at 4am on Easter and we literally crashed the minute we walked in the door. When I mean crashed I don't even think we took our clothes off and I still to this day have no idea how we didn't die. It was a long drive with it snowing twice and the fact that we were doing all we could to stay awake and make it home to pick Alex up on Easter morning.

We would of had a fun little Easter egg hunt, but with us getting a few hours of sleep we both were to tired and knew Alex probably could careless. He did get his very own Easter basket filled with Fisher Price Little People, a Mr. Potato head Easter Bunny and a bunch of blocks.

I think he really enjoyed it! He loves the blocks the most and has learned to throw everything he has when he's done with it. I think it's hilarious until he conked me in the back with a block and I realized we better kick that habit. That and he's learned how to hide things.. and with that I mean pacifiers, toys, balls and other weird things. I think he thinks it's a game but it's so weird because I find them in closets, under the couch and in drawers and cabinets. Silly boy.

I bought him a super cute out from Children's Place for Easter and even though we couldn't make it to church I figured he had to dress up and look darling just for that day! Everything I buy him right now is fitting a little awkwardly but it's because he's growing once again but at least I can appreciate the fact that it's not to small and he won't out grow it.

John snapped this picture while we were finishing unpacking and getting everything "back to normal". A highlight of this picture is that it's the last bottle Alex has had. We kicked the bottle habit a few weeks ago but didn't want to chance anything in Dallas or while we were in Arizona and let him enjoy it. He's bottle free and only gets his pacifier at naps and bedtime, soon that will be gone too!

Please ignore the girl in the background squinting trying to take picture of that adorable baby. I loved this photo because Alex loved to walk up and down the street and then actually try and jump in the street! He thinks he's mister tough guy now that he's running all over the place. I really think he's super proud he's walking and I can't believe he's been walking for over a month now!

After a few hours of relaxing we headed over to Uncle Jack & Aunt Michelle's house to celebrate Easter with everyone. It was so much fun to enjoy every ones company and actually celebrate a holiday with family! We ate such good food and Alex decided he had to be a part of all the action!

This kid loves strawberries... I mean he was taking whole chunks! He's starting eating everything we hand him whole, and would rather us not cut things up. Thanks goodness he hasn't chocked on anything but he just gobbles it all down!

Well even though I'm a week and a half late I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter!

Road Trip!

Can I just tell you all how excited I was to get a short vacation with my husband? Even if I had to drive the 10 hours to Scottsdale it was SO worth it. John and I took tons of road trips while we were dating, and when I mean tons I'm not joking. We took countless trips to Oklahoma, 2 trips to Utah and back!

The hard part was having to take an earlier flight home on Wednesday and instead of it being wide open, a Delta flight had problems with it's plane and they moved everyone on to ours. A fully booked plane, I never felt so irritated in my life. But when we finally got home Alex and I were thrilled to see John, Alex was so excited and giggly it almost melted my heart.

We headed home and got Alex all packed for a little vacation at his grandparents and headed for to drop him off. After a fast goodbye (because if I knew I stayed to long I wouldn't leave!) I rushed home to realize John was locked out and he still hadn't packed. I was hungry, tired frustrated and ready to get this drive going! After we finally were on our way we played all kinds of games!

Yes what you are seeing is correct. We did barricade the door, I was too tired to find another hotel and so was John

Now let me just fill you in on our hotel. What a joke that place was, I thought I got a deal online when I booked and I was excited because I'd heard good things about it-- more like read really. I was so scared someone was going to break in I made John barricaded the door. I thought we booked our hotel closer to Scottsdale and I'd actually paid the wrong place. Biggest mistake of my life, we might as well of been in the ghetto. Sad to say when we tried to get the rest refunded they couldn't do it for some odd reason and we ended up being stuck there.. let's just say I will never stay at a Quality Inn again.

I love this picture.. it captured such a fun peaceful moment on an overcast day

John had originally needed to go down for business but decided it'd be more fun if we went together. We did get work done but we also had a really fun time together. We had tons of fun restaurants and fast food joints we loved. It's hard living in Utah and missing some good fast food, I almost never eat fast food anymore here it always just does something wrong to my stomach.

My favorite restaurant by far on our trip was Abuelo's, amazing Mexican which is hard to come by in Utah and such a peaceful atmosphere. I will say one thing though we ate at Cheesecake Factory and it was HORRIBLE. The service was ridiculous, and they sat us next to people having a party outside. No big deal right? Well after seeing 4 people with cameras taking pictures WITH THE FLASH I started going nuts. They took over 200 pictures in 5 minutes.. and this lasted 35 minutes long. They could of put the blinds down since it was night right? All the manager could do is come over after we finished our meal and ask if we wanted to be moved. Rude right? Not even "Can we give you a free dessert" or do something to make the experience better, we told our waitress at the beginning of our freaking meal, It had to of taken the guy 15 minutes to come see us! I'd rather eat at Grand Lux Cafe any day even if it cost more I've always got amazing food and the best service, who wouldn't pay more for a better overall experience?

Oh but that's not the icing on the cake, we went to iHop the next morning and boy was that horrible. I was SO excited to eat a good breakfast and relax, and our server was pretty nice. John and I ordered the Breakfast Sampler like always (we're creatures of habit) and some biscuit and gravy.. that was a mistake. I go to take a bite and THANK GOODNESS I looked at my food before I ate it. There was mold.. right on the biscuit. Lets just say I don't think I'll ever eat there again.

But lets focus on the positives

For some reason I thought this was hilarious and was SO glad John paid cash for gas.

We spent a few hours at Fashion Square Mall which was AMAZING, I couldn't help but buy a few things but I must say I was very proud of myself. I spent a considerable less amount then I expected and bought Alex nothing. Which is a first.. and you'll understand that later in a future post. But I decided all in all I would not live in Arizona unless it was Scottsdale, I have no need for the heat but Scottsdale and by far a place I could see myself living. It was honestly the perfect city and I loved every bit of it and did you know they're getting a Barney's there at the mall, I mean that mall has everything I could ever need. *sigh*

But all in all it was an amazing trip. On our way out we stopped by the Outlets which was amazing, I loved the BCBG store and couldn't believe they had a nice Harry & David store! I realized it was such a wonderful trip to be alone with my husband and enjoy his company. I actually missed Alex about 3 hours into the trip when I walked into a gas station bathroom and saw a changing table wondering if I should change my baby who wasn't with me. But I think I handled it pretty well all in all, I mean I didn't get a vacation for over a year since he'd been born!

If you can't tell I really didn't take many picture while I was there because I didn't want to lug my Nikon around with my purse and other stuff, but we did stop in random areas so I could get some beautiful shots of the cactus and sky. The one thing that did surprise both John and I was how beautiful the drive was. We didn't get a chance to really notice since we drove there during the night time, but boy was the daytime beautiful. We even got stuck in a white out, not once but twice!

A little surprised to see us

Alex didn't know what to think when we went to pick him up on Easter. I think he was a little upset with me more than anyone because I was the one who dropped him off. But he warmed up quite quickly and you could tell he really enjoyed himself with Grandma & Grandpa. I think him and Daisy even warmed up to each other and I was so surprised! All in all I got an amazing report from Grandma that he slept well, ate well and sure did play well. He learned to shake his finger when he says "no-no" (so hilarious) say "i like this", "i want this" , dog and other things. I also noticed his walking and running got a whole lot better too. I think he was even happier when we got home and he saw all the things we brought back for him.. he's so completely spoiled.

You have to blow this picture up to really appreciate it, I thought it was breath taking and I loved every moment of it. We were at a pretty high elevation and I took this from the car when we were on the highway. Yes, the car I can't believe it came out so well!

Well I feel good to be ALMOST caught up.. I still have a few more posts and then we can get into present time!

H-Town

Houston, it's been years since I've been. I use to go visit my grandfather and also go with an old friend to see her family. All I can say is that town needs to get it's street signs and highway exits fixed. That or I'm a complete moron.

I rented one of these babies and all in all it was a nice smooth drive. I was shocked out how roomy it was and Alex loved the thing.. he slept the whole 3 1/2 hour drive. (I technically made it in 3 but I got lost)

I got this feeling I needed to have the GPS installed and pay the extra $10 whooping bucks a day for it. Thank goodness I did because all I did was get lost, I mean I got lost with some of the simplest written direction, and I felt like an idiot. I think I will be purchasing one from Costco because it never hurts to have a back up helper when you're husband isn't around!

We spent one night with my grandfather and step-grandmother (might as well be my grandmother) and honestly I wish I could of stayed a year. They're such amazing people and I feel like my grandfather can solve all my problems. He's so easy to talk to and always makes things better, I really think they enjoyed having Alex around. My other cousin is like 7 years old and I really doubt they'll be around to see her children. It made me feel so good to let them see they're great-grand son and get the chance to enjoy him!

There's Alex showing everyone that he knows where the fan is and wants it turned on.. he always says "ooohhh" when it's on

The next day Alex and I hoped in the car and went and visited my grandmother who I hadn't seen in a few years and introduce her to her great-grand son. Beaumont is a SMALL town and I didn't realize it until I was on this little highway the whole way and the biggest thing I saw was a John Deere dealership. It was nice to catch up with her and I even got to meet her new boyfriend. Who knew at almost 80 you could still pick up guys? Hmm... Anyways we didn't get to stay to long but we did get to spend the night.

I woke up early that next morning ready to head back to Dallas, I wasn't looking forward to the drive back because I only got 4 hours of sleep since I decided to catch up on blogs and facebook.. so tempting you know?

You can tell I'm kind of out of it and not all together but isn't Jackson so cute.. I almost tried to sneak him back in my car with me!

But we had to stop back by my grandfather's to say goodbye one more time before we stopped by and met Jenn, Jackson and some of their awesome family for breakfast. We had so much fun talking and we had to of been there for almost 2 hours and I was so sad to have to go! Jackson's pictures don't do him any justice! He's definitely going to be a lady killer and I couldn't get over those cheeks!

Alex loved Kellie; Jenn's sister-in-law and he loved her boys!

This picture is seriously priceless.. and made me laugh so hard I think I almost died. This is when you learn making you're son wake up at 8 AM Central time/ 7 AM his normal time is a horrible idea. Lets just say he went right to sleep when he got in the car and slept almost the whole way back to Dallas

Well that's all from Texas, I can't wait to be back there this summer.. next stop Arizona!

Where to start?

Wow, I needed a day or two to breathe after traveling so much. I was seriously exhausted and I'm surprised John didn't catch any pictures of me falling asleep sitting up, drooling on myself or talking in my sleep.

Boy loves his slinky

Well.. where to start? I woke up Wednesday actually proud of myself that I didn't pack very much and that I was ready and out the door by 8am. A huge surprise because my bag is always barely 49 lbs (It was 44 this time.. big different huh?) and I'm always rushing out the door to barely catch my plane. The down side is it started snowing.. bad. I was in a polo and flip flops all prepared for the beautiful Texas weather and wishing I had shot myself. Can you just imagine stepping in snow on your bare feet? Oh.. it only gets better.

I bought this wonderful contraption because I knew it'd save my life. I actually honestly highly recommend it for anyone flying with a child. I just got a broken one, lucky me right? The wheel kept falling off... about 1254 times to be exact. On the airplane about 3 I was so embarrassed, the nice thing was 3 EXTREMELY nice people I didn't even know decided to help. I'm glad to know that there are still kind people out there. Alex feel in to coma as the engines clicked on and he slept about 1 1/2 and decided to play the entire time with me. He actually did great in his car seat, I was expecting him to be ticked and walk around the plane, but he was great.

As I got off the plane dragging Alex in his car seat to the front of the plane (Heaven forbid I use the thing pictured above^^) I hooked him in that contraption practically begging and pleading with heavenly father that I NEEDED him to let it work for 10 mins so I could get my luggage and to my Aunt's car. Luckily.. it did. And I do have to say in the company's defense they sent me a replacement over-night and since then it's been perfect.

All I could think of was how hot it was and how much I was ready for a nap. Every time I fly I get jet lag, regardless of how long the altitude just wears me out. I was ready for a nap. To be honest I didn't take much photos, I was so busy traveling and spending time I didn't even think about photos. I can't even believe I just said that because I always have my Nikon glued to my hand.

I went and saw one of my closest friends; Jessica in Dallas and her husband and son. I loved spending time with them and it was nice to catch up with her! I swear friends like that make me want to go back home, it's so hard living out here sometimes!

Jessica's son Braylon is SO adorable I want to just eat him up, I saw him two days after he was born, then 2 months later and now he's 6 months and so big!!

Bubby had such a wonderful time with Alex, she was calling me every morning wanting to know when we were coming over for breakfast. I know she already misses him and can't wait until be come back to visit!

Alex being the little sneak he is tried to crawl up and down the stairs of every ones house we went to visit. It was until he almost rolled all the way and still found it hilarious. As you can see in all of these pictures he looks happy and normal.. somehow down in Dallas he developed diarrhea, it was ridiculous and it brought me back to the day when I needed to carry extra clothes around. Not fun, but he didn't notice one bit.
He picked up a few fun things from visiting my family.

-Plays peek-a-boo with his hands
-Points at the fan and the light and says the word
-Stared hiding his shoes so he didn't have to wear them
-Tells people hello and goodbye
-Says dog and other random words
-Clicks his tongue
-Along with "is this" points to EVERYTHING and wants you to tell him what it is, from time to time he'll try to repeat it back

How he picked these up I have no idea, I've learned one thing though he definitely is learning a lot faster and trying to mimic us all the time!

I also spent some time with my cousins who got married back in November. I have a pretty small family so I was actually able to see everyone which was SO nice because we're all like brother and sisters. I visited with my parents and unfortunately my mother had to have two surgeries while I was in town and didn't get to enjoy Alex as much as she wanted too. Bad timing and hopefully when we go back she'll get more time with him! I promised not to take any pictures because she had surgery on her eye and didn't want the whole world to see her with a patch.

My cousin Josh who might as well be my brother, took me to Pappadeaux the most AMAZING seafood restaurant. It's hard living in Utah and not getting to eat crawfish, it's just honestly not fair. He's the guy I always brag about the does my hair and makes me look fabulous. He's technically Alex's second-cousin but we've bumped him up to an Uncle.

Coming up Part Two: Houston.

Like a kid in a candy store.

I have so much to say and I can't believe almost two weeks later I am home in the comfort of my couch writing this. I had an AMAZING time in Houston/Dallas/Beaumont, and an even better time in Scottsdale. I'm shocked that I'd be SO ready to be home and get my life back to normal and back on a schedule! But before I talk about all these wonderful things above.. I thought I'd share something special with all of you.

A letter from the First Presidency came in the mail for John and I. Our Sealing Clearance, something I've waited for since John and I found each other and I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I almost cried when I saw this because I'd been checking the mail daily for the last 6 weeks hoping this letter would come.

I hid the address, cause this is on the internet and all!

I came home after my flight Wednesday and got all the mail from our PO Box and from our personal mailbox and schemed through it and must of passed it. We were actually driving home from our Aunt and Uncle's from a wonderful dinner for Easter with family when I actually mentioned it. This wasn't the first in the past 6 weeks I'd brought it up, and I was wondering why it hadn't come, I couldn't understand why it was taking so long! It was something I'd been dying for and I wanted to set a date, get plans on my dress started and send out invitations!

Low and behold it was sitting in the huge pile of mail I had yet to open... and when I saw it I nearly screamed. I tore it open and got nervous.. opened the creased letter and there it was the word I'd been praying for. Approved. We got it.. and I can't believe this day has finally come after almost a year of starting this process, something amazing came from it. Patience. It was signed by the Prophet himself and his two counselors.. I feel so honored to have such an amazing letter in front of me signed buy such amazing men. I'm going out and buying a frame ASAP this is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

For my friends and family that have no idea what I'm talking about, read the info that follows it will give you more insight. It's a brief understanding on the meaning of this ceremony. It's something so special and sacred.

"LDS faithful believe civil marriages are dissolved at death if they are not later solemnized with a sealing, but that a couple who has been sealed in the temple will be married beyond physical death if they remain righteous. An illustrative difference in the marriage ceremony performed in LDS temples is the replacement of the words "until death do us part" with "for time and all eternity".

Meaning for me is that I will be with my family forever, I believe that I don't just die, I have everyone I love for the rest of my life. Something that I cherish, ever since I found out I was pregnant I wanted to jump on getting sealed. I had always wanted it but knew it would take time and possible issues might come before us. It has taught me patience and in good times things will work out the way they are suppose to. All in all it was an amazing life lesson for me.

I'm like on cloud 9 and don't plan on coming off ANYTIME soon. We'll be sealed in the Salt Lake City temple and the date will come out soon along with other plans. =]

Totally a Toddler now..

My son is growing up so fast I have to honestly catch every moment or I feel as if I'm going to miss it for the rest of my life. I can't help but get his pictures done all the time and I hope soon I'll be the one taking them professionally. He's such a little poser and seriously loves the camera. Cameras, fans, and cell phones. I think I'll be investing a little more into "distraction" toys for the future.

These first set of photos are my favorite, ok wait they ALL were my favorite but I love this outfit that I searched high and low for and put together myself. I went on a man hunt to make it work out and really enjoyed how he took to McKenzie!

Always sticking his tongue out at someone!

Even though he's now technically a toddler, he's definitely not to old to play "so big"

One of my all time favorites, how she captured this picture just amazes me

Still my little chunk

This was the second set of pictures that we did, I didn't realize I was suppose to bring another set of clothes, but did "just in case" something happened to the first. Luckily I did because I got more picture, the only down side is that the shirt was a little big.. 2T and 18-24 months can be a real difference. GRR Baby Gap get you're sorting in order, just kidding he still looks like a stud!

Even though his clothes look like they're practically eating him.. I love the location!

He gets so giggly when you try and chase him and tell him "I'm gonna get you" this is another favorite from the bunch

Still the typical face around the house and in a lot of these photos! There is a story behind this face that goes back wayyyy before he was even thought of

The last of the bnch in the studio, I had to have a cake to let him play with and snag a few photos of. Lets just say it resulted in him hating me for smooching it in his face because he couldn't make a decision whether or not it was edible. I really thought after doing that it'd be a deal breaker for him even looking at his cake at his party. Luckily I was wrong.

Seriously wondering why the heck that thing is in front of him

Loved the candle until he realized it was not something he could eat, then he got mad and threw it!

The end of the shot, about over an hour in and completely over it. Ready for a nap and bottle!

Well I feel in love with Alex's photo shot! i am so not joking he's a complete adorable chunk and I can't believe how much older he keeps looking! I compare all his shots and it amazes me how fast and much he's growing up! McKenzie captured exactly what I wanted and I am SO glad she's such a wonderful photographer. I honestly aspire to be as great as people like her, she actually did everything she could to make it so much fun!

Well this is the last of them folks, I stretched these out as far as I could and right now I'm in Arizona after a long flight form Dallas and a 10 hour drive here! I am SO lucky to have such an amazing mother in law who is babysitting my son to give John and I some time alone to not only do work BUT also play. I owe her and my father in law my left arm and leg for doing this at the last minute and being such great grandparents! I am SO EXCITED to go on a road trip with my husband and spend some quality time together.. this will be the first time with no baby! And I know I'll be missing him so much!

Lets just say I've had a busy/crazy vacation and I know it's not the last for this year or summer.

Monday, April 6, 2009

Oh we're doing it.

More wonderful pre-blogged posts, told you guys I wasn't going to leave ya hanging while I was gone! Well it finally true we're getting Alexander's and John gift, a doberman puppy. I am actually super excited, I know that state of mind will disappear after I get to potty train and have another baby running around the house and destroying the place. But to be honest I'd rather have a puppy now that can destroy my townhouse (not my future home...) and enjoy the excitement Alex will get.

As we all know Alex LOVES dogs and can't wait.. we can't either. She will be ready in May to be picked up and was born last week on the 26th. We can't wait to have her as a part of of our growing family!! One of the little black ones is ours! And we're so lucky cause the lady lives right by Adam & Mandy so we can take a mini vacation and visit them too!!

Speaking of Alex, he has decided to start surprising us once again with fun new things. I've seem to notice more and more and I can't believe how he picks up on things so fast, I didn't know they're so smart at this age! It's like almost night and day from just 6 months ago! He's started to "blow kisses" with his hands when we say "Blow us a kiss!", which is even cuter than him giving us kisses. He seems to mimic us in everything we do, he likes to try and wipe his mouth and blow on his food (manners already! lucky me!) and he's really starting to point things out when we talk about specific things. He's talking more and more and telling all kinds of things and actually said his name the other day, he's a total chatter box and can sure talk your head off. But I think my favorite is he covers his eyes to play peek-a-boo, boy how the time has seriously flown by. He's already almost 13 months.. and I promised myself I'd give up the monthly updates of new things since now you can obviously see they're so many now!

He's also taken it upon himself to maneuver himself out of his stroller, car seat, and highchair. Don't ask me how he hasn't broken his neck yet but he does it OFTEN. The kid is sneaky too. I never realized why they had those stupid buckles on high chair and strollers... well now I do, I seem to seriously be kicking myself lately. The kid will do anything to just let us walk him around, if he walked as fast as us we'd let him!

But other than that we honestly can't wait to get a puppy, we're so excited to see Alex's face! Wouldn't you want one too?!? And I'm getting my butt in bed because I have a plane to catch tomorrow, I have a few more posts to keep you ready and waiting for my post about Texas!

Who needs a maid?

So I probably need to say the following, I am a spoiled wife. My husband loves me so much that he gets a maid to help clean up our house. I know it's ridiculous because I am a stay at home mother and what else do I have to do other than take care of my 1 year old? Well since my major car accident in '04 I've never been the same and after having Alex I've slowly declined. We're looking at our options for surgery and running tests. I actually had to have two rounds of ESI (Epidural Steroid Injections) to relieve the inflammation because it's that bad before the can do the major procedures. (Which so far hasn't worked!) So I guess I'm blessed to have a man who loves me enough to not let me suffer and get some help.

But I told him we might not need one here soon since I've got someone who's a fast learner, and would rather me pay with yogurt drops than cash.

And this folks is Alex's best friend and when I mean best it's true at the age of 1 you can have a best friend. This is Patrice's son Issac who is about 2 months older than Alex and boy they're hilarious together. They always seem to not bother us unless it's a complete emergency (ie. diaper change, meal time, or bottle) and they play so well together. Especially now cause Alex has been walking for awhile they chase each other around the house!
