Sickness is in the air

Well I'm extremely lucky to being able to update so quickly, I don't know how I found the time with everything crazy going and especially with my birthday tomorrow (i'll be 20! :)and Alex's blessing on Sunday. Woo. I feel completely wiped out with everything I've been dealing with this week. Gosh I never have time to even eat these days, no wonder I keep losing weight with no effort!

Anyhow I was just enjoying my Thursday evening yesterday watching TV, playing with Alex and after I ate Chick-fila which I loveee by the way, all the sudden I hear these baby coughs. I look at Alex and think "Ah well he's probably swallowed some spit the wrong way". (something he always does) Well he did it a few more times and then I started to worry, but the time I thought it was going to mean a doctor's visit it was to late to call the doc. He had a little bit of a hard time for a few hours last night and I took his temperature and sure enough he was running a small fever.

Worst thing of all is he's such a little angel about it all after I gave him some baby tylenol! It breaks my heart to see him sick, but most of all he's handling it so well! He's sleeping a ton, which has been very common in him lately, but the only thing is he was eating less until this afternoon so hopefully the worst has some how past. Funny thing is I got up and took him to the doctor today and he's 13lbs 7 ozs. He gained a freaking pound in 6 days, my mouth literally dropped. The doctor was even surprised! He definitely has no problems being a little chow hound, and he definitely got all of his daddy's genes in the height department! I keep telling everyone I'm going to have all these kids and their going to be all taller than me and I'll be this midget in the family photos.

But any ways you know how you always hear women or even maybe your mom say to you when you were young that she wishes she could take it all away if she could. I feel like that right now, poor thing has bronchitis and I know how much that sucks! Trust me I usually get it 4-5 times a year, and that's only on good years!

I just wish it would warm up and stay nice and pretty, not to hot or to cold and no one would be sick! But I know that, that would never happen and I need to come back to reality.

Well May is almost over and it's already June! I can't believe half of this year is already over and it's gone by so fast! I just can't wait to see what the rest of this year brings. Life only seems to be getting better and better as the days go by.

Well I'm off to John and my birthday dinner. Market Street Grill.. mm mm yummy. Thank goodness for coupons and gift certificates.

Bottles, Swings, Clothes oh my!!

Well I know the heading doesn't sound as great as lions, tigers, and bears but it feels like a huge oh my around here. But we'll get to that in a second. Oh and this post is A LOT longer than I thought it would of been. It's been awhile though!

David and Rachel were here this weekend (John's brother and his wife) and I was super glad to get to see them since they had been in Utah since Thanksgiving of '06! You guys need to get back over here more often!! It was great to get to visit with them because I definitely have an awesome time talking to them. They're very easy to talk to and super outgoing! I was sad to say goodbye last night because we didn't get enough time with them. But it's ok I know John and I will have to go up to Chicago on the next few months so we'll get together again!

John and I went to see Indiana Jones on Friday and ya know I think it was pretty good! Other than the whole bizarre scenes of Indiana flying through the air in a lead refrigerator after an atomic bomb and the flying saucer I think it was good. I know they were able to use a whole lot more animation and effects then they could 20 years ago and it wasn't too over done. It definitely did great in the box office and I have this feeling that Shia Labeouf is going to take on the legacy and make more!

So about these bottles, swings and clothes. Well lets just start with the swing.. I'm a HUGE fan of craigslist, I love looking on there for great bargains because who wants to spend a lot of money when you don't have to? Anyone that isn't familiar with it, it's a web site that allows you to sell New or Used items for free! It's used all over the world, and a great way to sell old things that you don't need anymore. You can also try to get jobs, use their forums, find housing and a bunch of other things. I've sold and purchased things and it's defiantly saved me a ton of cash and also made me some money on old things I don't use anymore. Well back to the main point. I've been searching for a nice travel swing for Alex because he LOVES to be in a swing. If he's not napping the sling I wear or laying around he loves swinging. Well I finally found a travel swing for 20 bucks and it's only a few months old and practically new! Only 20 bucks!! What a deal! All I had to do was wash and lysol it down and it's great! Now I don't have to worry about him not being able to swing when he's being babysat. He's chewing on his hands which is another of his favorite past time.. but how cute!

And this is him about 5 mins later!

Next the clothes situation. Ok I've got this baby who doesn't want to stop growing! I had to go buy him new clothes already, and you know most kids go from Newborn to 0-3 to 3 months then 6 months. Not my kid he's already in 6 months! Geezz.. at this rate I'll be buying clothes every few weeks! I got him some new clothes that were on sale and he's almost ready to wear them but man.. I just can't believe I had to buy clothes I thought I had enough until he was 1 yr old! Heck I have enough for twins!

Here our some of a few of his new clothes..

and here is the huge pile I have to put in storage! Oh well.. at least I know I'm having more babies!

Last but definitely not least. I've been talking to a few friends and also reading another friends blog called Karen's Tip right there to the right on information and tips about various stuff. Thank goodness for it, I've really found it handy! Well there's this big hype about the BPA issue. There are a bunch of web sites talking about it and explaining the tests that have been done and the danger of the bottles. Now I'm a HUGE fan of everything Avent.. from sterilizers to bottle warmers to bottles.. nipples.. pacifiers I mean everything. And I was super sad to read about this huge BPA thing. They even say it's in pacifiers and formula too! I did my research online and talked to Babies R Us and bottles are their only thing they've heard about for right now. I was able to return my 20 or so Avent bottles to Babies R Us today and receive a pretty nice in-store credit. Only some stores are doing it so make sure you call first! Make sure you do it fast also, I don't know how long they're doing it for! But good thing is you don't need a box or receipt and whatever they're selling for they'll give you that price in credit back. These are the ones I bought:

I was introduced to the Born Free bottles which come in a harder BPA-free plastic and also glass. I'm not a fan of glass so I went with the plastic. I heard Dr. Brown's is also coming out with Polypropylene bottles and they should be at Babies R Us soon but they're pretty price online right now. 3-8 oz for 40.00 bucks. I got my Born free 2-9 oz for 20.00. Both aren't cheap, but I'd rather get 4-40.00 then 3-40.00. I know Dr. Brown's also makes glass, but like I said I'm not a fan of glass and I really don't want my son throwing a glass bottle once he's able to hold it on his own. Avent suppose to come out with their own version but I haven't seen to much news on that. Anyways.. I went the stretch and got a bunch and Alex seems to be doing just fine with them.

In other news Alex's acid reflux got worse over the weekend. THe bad news is John and I had 2 days of hell to deal with, with a screaming baby who was so upset and wouldn't eat. The worst of it all was that Saturday was John's birthday and we had plans to do a lot of fun stuff with Alex. Bummer. It was a mixture of the soy formula he got and his medicine dose being too low. The doctor on call had us schedule a upper GI but good news is he doesn't have to have one! My doctor called me today and said they're was no need and since the medicine seems to be working just great, we've hopefully got smooth sailings from here on out! Hopefully by the time he's 4 months it'll be all over and done with the doctor said! Hooray!

Also I wanted to share these to cute pictures of Alex, the first one with him straining to stare at the lights up top..

and the second one is of his cute little smiles! All he does now is smile! Every time John and I play with him or start talking to him he's all smiles. That and he likes to play the stand for 15 secs and then sit/fall over. LOL What a happy smiling baby I have.. I'm so lucky!

I've got such a great baby! And he just gets cuter every single day! Sorry this is so long, but I hope you enjoyed it!

P.S. Thanks everyone on your comments on the Temple and being sealed! I really appreciate it! I start Temple Prep Classes tonight!

The Home Life..well not so much home.

Gosh I feel so lost I haven't been able to write in so long. Well one of the reasons is Alex is getting adjusted to having his shots, got put on cereal and the poor guy is having a tough time with his acid reflux. It's gotten better the last few days I think the shots and a slight fever really set him off the other day. Oh and who knew you had to buy all new nipples for bottles when using cereal! AH! This baby stuff can be exhausting and confusing!

The other is that I feel like I've been out running errands and being so busy. I had to go by Alex's blessing outfit, look at garments because I'm finally getting my recommend and getting cealed this year. Now I just have to stop procrastinating on a date and set it. blah blah blah.

I'm completely suprised that my two month old son is wearing 3-6 month old clothes! He's 12 1/2 pounds.. almost 24 inchs and has a huge head, the circumference is 16! That and he's balding a little in the back from sleeping hahaha. It's sooo cute. That and when he wakes he kinda looks like a grandpa with his thin short hair sticking up everywhere!

Also I'm so freaking excited! I'm thrilled to say I'm getting my Patriartical Blessing.. I've been dying to get mine since I converted July '06. I've just never felt a huge need to have it until now, it's kinda the reason I waited. And has anyone taken Temple Prep Classes.. I have no idea what to expect!

Oh and Indiana Jones came out today!! Woo hoo! I've been dying to see it for months.. that and Batman, but Batman is a whole other conversation which will be coming in the next few blogs. John forced me into watching the series and I've been addicted ever since! I really like Harrison Ford and have become a new fan of Shi Labeouf.

But I guess that's it.. I'm starting to ramble..

Please excuse this blog if it ends up looking funny I'm playing with a new Adobe program.

The Big Day

Well we finally got the prints from Katie at peekaboo photos and man they look adorable. She did an amazing job and I'm recommending her to EVERYONE. I want everyone to see all the pics, so I'm adding them to my Web Gallery. The link is on the right hand side and under Ferguson's Pics and Videos. Anyone that wants to see them send me your email and I'll send you the username and password, if you've seen pics of Alex before it's the same username and password. I thought I'd post a few though.. makes me realize how precious Alex really is and I wish he was always that peaceful. I only posted the photoshopped pictures on my web gallery but I'll have to add the other ones from the shot that are HILARIOUS because he's doing all kinds of funny things. I added both black/white and color.. I want people's opinion please!! I'm planning on doing birth announcements and need feedback. Now I'm going to be honest.. he's a little bit of a poser. He wasn't to hard to work with and we got poop, pee and eating out of the way in the first 15 mins. LOL

He did a wonderful job with John, other than the whole going to the bathroom with his daddy and not me.. he seemed to really enjoy himself.. even though he looks a little irritated here.

By the time I got him in this shot he was out COLD.. it was nice because he was so easy to move around for shots.. I was just terrified I was going to get a face full of pee.

This is one of my favorite pictures.. this is where I think Katie did a marvelous job she captured him in such a peaceful and happy moment I knew from her just taking the picture it was going to come out adorable

We got really lucky with the basket shots.. he was almost to big and he wasn't too happy to be in there in the beginning but after we got it all fluffed up and him positioned right, he came out posing beautifully.

Another favorite.. you get to see his cheek roll and he's just waking up from a few minutes of napping. The hat was so adorable too.

And last but not least here is the photo that is funniest of all. If you can see buy Alex's face he's up to something. This is the photo he pooped in John's hands. lol I was laughing so hard when I saw this pictures.. I wish we would of got a shot of John's face as it was happening.

GOSH! After seeing this it makes me want to do photography for a full time hobby! I love taking pictures and capturing moments for me and my family to share later in life. I just can't wait to go back when he's about 8 months and get him to do a bunch of fun stuff. I hope to send him as the main photo for Christmas cards this year. Funny once you have a child and have a real family started you feel like you need to send cards out and all kinds of things for holidays.

There are tons of more pictures on the website.. these were just a few of the favorite. Hope you guys enjoy.

Ok this is a prize winner.

Ok.. so I don't think I have EVER smiled and laughed so hard in my entire life. John made this video with a program called Screenflow where it records what your doing on the computer and you from the camera on the computer. He had Alex with him while I was washing bottles and cleaning up and I had no idea what those to were doing until John showed me this video. Alex is tentative watching John the entire time and give his open mouth smiles here and there. We finally got to see his true smiles this last few days and it's about the cutest thing ever. I looooveee seeing those lips curl up and see this pink gums staring me in the face! He's such a cutie.. I officially must say after seeing this video he is the cutest little thing ever. I can't wait to show him this when he's a teenager! I've got my few favorite parts but I hink the best is when he coos after John is talking and it almost seems like he's giving him his own little response! LOL He even tries to dance a little while he's bouncing on John's leg, that and he even has a little Popeye the sailor man face going!

I had to post this so everyone could see it and laugh like I did.

Sunny Days.. well rainy now.

You know this is going to sound really freakin stupid but one of the only things I hate about the summer is that it gets SO bright outside. I've got sensitive eyes, so when I'm outdoors if I don't have sunglasses on I look like I'm squinting really hard to see things.. it's actually really funny. But I love how wonderful the weather has been! I'm lucky to have summer clothes that I can fit into or I'd be running around in sweaters soon! Well I take that back now that it's started raining... but it is also nice to have rain finally here. I'm so use to it raining all the time when I was in Dallas.. it never seems to rain here.

I've been thinking about going private btw... After reading Amy's blog and the adding the tracker and seeing who's been viewing my blog I just don't know if it's a good idea to be public anymore. But don't worry I'll let everyone know before I do it! It's so weird how people are so nuts now-a-days and pictures you find cute and adorable can be interpreted to someone else as something perverted.

Anyways I'm WAY excited to say I got Adobe Photoshop Extended and a bunch of their other programs by Adobe and can't wait to make my own website. I haven't really made a website in a few years but took classes on it and really enjoyed it! But now since finding all these the programs I have do it for me! That and I'm trying to do Photography as a hobby for right now and see if it takes me anywhere in the future and holy cow Photoshop Extended kicks butt at editing! John bought me a Canon for Christmas and it works perfect for taking photos. Sorry I probably sound so retarded but I'm so in love with photography I'm planning on taking a few classes just so I know what I'm doing .. that and maybe a few Graphic Design classes wouldn't hurt to get a good use out of Photoshop.

So we got the ok from the Doc to take Alex to church last weekend (we've got 700 people in our ward and we have like 250+ kids.. high RSV risk) and man that wasn't easy but we did it! He sleep all through Sacrament and then stayed completely wide-eyed through Gospel Principles and Relief Society. But I've gotta say I was so excited to be back! I loved the lesson in Gospel Principles about the Millennium and it was great! I can't wait til next week's! Funny how I get excited about the smallest things now-a-days.

So Alex is going through a growth spurt the doc says. He's been sleeping more after feedings but is still wide awake when he's not... and sometimes he likes to eat every 2-2.5 hours and if I'm lucky every 3. I didn't know babies go through growth spurts.. well I did just not so soon! Gosh he's so funny when he eats though he'll eat for awhile then fall asleep, I'll wake him up and burp him and then he gets this high pitch whine almost like he's saying "Gimme it back! Now! Now!" and the minute he gets it back he's all calm again. Funny how that happens. He seems to love bath time now too. John just jumps in the shower and he just loves to shower with him it's just so cute how you hear him coo in there! I even got him dressed afterwards and he was such a sport about it! He was being so adorable, I had to run and grab the camera! We're pretty much out of the newborn onesies now too, I got in the last few I had and realized he's a little to long and his chubby legs are getting snug! I just can't believe how big he is.

Well I thought it would be cute to send my family and John's some cute pictures of us and Alex for mothers day. It's not to expensive and it's something everyone has wanted. I was hoping to get the photos from the photo shot back but it doesn't look like we'll get those til Friday. I can't wait to get those and send announcements out!

Well gotta go run errands before it gets to late!

Here are the pics of him after his bath :)

Getting Dressed and being good about it.

Oh... I thought this was hilarious, this was him out cold after eating!

Baby Stuff

Ya know it's so funny how my life seems so much more extremely busy now that I have a baby in my life. It takes me FOREVER to get anywhere and do anything! I woke up this morning, feed Alex then attempted to get ready and by the time that happened he needed to be fed again! Thank goodness for having John at home now, he just works in his office and he's a great babysitter. :) lol Sometimes I think I abuse the baby-sitting privileges with him.. he's the one working and I'm the mom but ya know he's so great about helping out. It is SO amazingly cute to see him with Alex.. he just loves him so much, I get excited every time I see them together. Bubby.. (it means grandmother in Yiddish) says Alex looks like John a lot, and ya know I think he does too. I just keep telling everyone as long as he has my eyes we're all good. I know when we have a girl she'll have all of her momma's good looks. hehehe.

It's so funny we went to a boutique the other day while I went on the 4th trip out buying Alex more outfits for his photo shot last monday and I saw the cutest thing EVER!! Girly tutus.. if you would of seen me you would of thought I was nuts. I was so excited and the first thing John says is "Your not getting your son one of those". LOL! I'm not baby hungry just yet for another baby.. but man I can't wait to have a girl! I almost bought a few things! BTW.. After going on all those little shopping sprees for clothes for Alex.. get this.. It was a naked photo shot. He has no clothes on in any photos! I have all these clothes for nothing! I'm returning some.. and you know what's even funnier I was going through his closet and dresser... he's got so much clothes I didn't realize it! I still have all this stuff to put him in! ARRGGH! Gotta fit him in those things before he gets to big!!

Speaking about big... this baby is a chow hound! He's 10 lbs 5 ozs and will be 6 wks old tomorrow! He's got his 2 month old baby wellness check up coming up! Wow has the time flew by, and he's always awake! ALWAYS! He loves being awake and loves to look around at everything. He loves to watch the lights on the TV and he loves his swings. Yes plural swings... hes got two I know I know spoiled. But having an upstairs and downstairs makes it hard when he wants to be in it when we're upstairs watching movies. Oh and it's so weird but he loves laying on me. I mean loves it, if he gets tired of swinging all I have to do is lay him on me while I'm on the Internet or watching TV and he's happy as can be.

Ok well.. what else. I'm excited to be going to Dallas here soon. We're suppose to go end of June and I get to see my best friend who is having a baby in the Fall. She's moving from NC to Florida and is going home to Dallas to have her shower! That and I get to see my amazing family and my other great friends. It's been so long!

Oh. I CAN'T WAIT for Mother's Day! hehehe Isn't that cheesy! It'll be my first one.. and I know Alex can't really do much but I know John will do something cute. He's always great at that. He always gives me flowers at random moments.. cards and other great things! Oh.. our birthdays are coming up! End of May.. I'll be 20 and John will be 31.. he still keeps up like he's in his early 20s. Shoot half the time I can't even keep up with him!

Does anyone have good advice for getting back into shape after having a baby? I mean I've lost 30 lbs which is great I mean don't get me wrong I'm happy! But other than eating healthy and working out is there anything else I can do?? I got the ok to finally work out this week so I'm getting back with my trainer but I still want to do more! I want to look great sometime this swimsuit season!

What a cute little sleeper. He looovvess his hands.

Bath time :)

After eating!

Man he loves his swing... he sleeps with his arms out like that lol!

I think that's about it for now.. Alex is about to get up and eat. :)

Oohh! by the way.. check out www.zutano.com they have adorable baby clothing and stuff for toddlers! I can't stop getting Alex stuff from their clothing line!
