Put a sock in it.

So lately we've had this huge issues of Alex putting everything in to his mouth.. somethings are cute and some are funny and honestly some are disgusting.

Examples:

His feet
Our Toes (GROSS!!)
His Toys
Our Toys (Cell phones.. Ipods.. Computer Parts)
His Fingers
Our Fingers
His clothing
Our Clothing (Socks..T-shirts..etc.)

Pretty much ANYTHING he thinks finds fit for his mouth.. but this cracked me up. He did this ALL on his own with no help from us, although I've imagined what it'd be like with him a little more quite.. just kidding. He actually took the socks off after chewing on his feet and stuck them in his mouth.

See he has all the other great things around him.. gosh even the remote!! What does he want.. his dang socks.

I guess boys will boys.

8 Months Old

So this post is coming a day early but I felt like because I have this free time I would write about some fun things that evolved over the last week or so. I'm still kind of shocked when people ask how old he is, because it's almost been a year and I'm so surprised that it's flown by. I've honestly enjoyed every moment with him, and am so grateful that I have such a happy and healthy baby.

I love this outfit! Bubby made the hat and scarf and it's SO adorable! Little French boy!

Alex is now crawling, he doesn't do it all the time but when he wants something or us he's gotten down the motions enough to get to what he wants. He's also learned to finally sit up on his own, which actually happened this weekend and shocked me to death. Alex feels that he can get somewhere faster if he rolls and only likes to crawl if it's completely necessary. As stupid as it sounds it's true and he rolled over into our dining room the other day and all the sudden John says he's sitting up on his own. I didn't think much until I realized John never got up to help him! I was so shocked I couldn't believe it, next is standing and walking!

Cute huh? See how snug it's getting in that car seat?

And yes can you believe size 5! I've NEVER had blow-outs with Alex, I know some babies you can't help but I always just changed diaper sizes when it looked like anything close to that. Well he's been having a few lately and I guess I haven't realized how big he is! Libbie weighed him at her house and she said he weighed 26 pounds, but when I weighed him twice at friends houses it was closer to 27 1/2! I guess we'll see when we go to his check up coming up here soon. Gosh and the 12 months clothes I bought not to long ago are already starting to get tight! I can't believe we're ready for 18 months here soon! I'm so shocked, I never would of thought I'd have THIS big of a baby! And talking about size.. Alex can barely fit in his car seat. Yep.. so much for that extra possible 4 months or so. Nope, he's way to long and I have no slack left for the belts to loosen. I'm kinda of irritated about the fact that the car seats are as much as I paid for my Travel System. But the upside is he'll last a year or two or even more *crosses fingers* than the car seat I have. The last month or two we've been doing the "big boy" tub and showers with dad. Those baby tubs irritate Alex so bad, he's so uncomfortable! So we started to carefully do the "big boy" tub and make sure to watch him carefully because although he sits-up with no problems and for long periods of time I'm still scared to death he's going to drowned or something. It's probably been the main reason I haven't blogged because I worry grabbing the camera might be that few seconds something might happen.

Playing in the bath tub is always fun but getting him out is a whole different story

He's become such a little character too, he's always smiling and laughing and I love that he's so ticklish. He's so active, but still sleeps amazing well and loves his 3 naps a day. If he doesn't get his naps that days are tougher and he gets more clingy. I've also noticed all the smaller toys he plays with aren't as fun as the bigger ones. I bought a few that I found on sale and he seems to be much more entertained than the rattles and plush animals. Oh and the computer is still one of his favorites, but since I got a new phone he watches TV on my cell. The LG Dare has SO many awesome features, but the whole TV thing is great because he loves to watch the toddler shows and even though it's a short fix sometimes 5 minutes is heaven. I just hope after his 6th tooth cuts, I'll get a little bit of a break. I'm very jealous of all of you moms that got to have a few relaxing months of no teeth.

The "milk coma" is still around, and it's so funny when you compare pictures. They're all the same he's just gotten bigger lol

I never really realized how much time a child really can take up in your life. I'm always doing or thinking about something to do for Alex. It amazes me! He eats actual solids up to four times a day and always wants to try what I'm eating. He wants to be the main attention when we are out to eat and loves to sit in the high chair and bang silverware on the table. I keep thinking things are gong to get easier but I'm starting to realize I still have a few more years. I think his first word is coming... and I'm getting thrilled for a little communication!

He was all dressed up for church and after we got home he just feel out for like 3 hours. Who knew church could wear a kid out?

Now that I look back I didn't mean my post to be this long but I guess I couldn't help talking about how fun Alex has been. I just wish it wasn't going by so fast.. or if I could rewind a little! I guess I need to blog more so I don't go on and on about things I've been forgetting to talk about.

He's going to be a real life size one of these one day.. and I can't wait!

I'm getting the fall/winter pictures this week and I promise to post them. I actually got to see them all and they came out amazing. Thank you so much Lindsey you were amazing!

Oh and did I mention I'm entering him in a Gerber Baby contest? I've gotten it so much that he looks like a Gerber baby I thought I'd enter him and see what happens. I thought it'd be fun since he's such a cutie.

I've just been busy, honest.

So I kind of feel like a bad blogger because I've been home form Dallas for over a week and I still haven't found anytime to get a blog entry done. Yeah yeah I know I'm a slacker, but it's always been something going on over and when I finally found the time to get to blog it was Monday and we had to do our fall/winter photos. That and I have been sick lately, no cold or anything just really bad migraines and dealing with a baby and a throbbing head is enough for me for a day. So this won't be a long post about my trip even though it looks extremely long, I kind of let the pictures do all of the talking.

I promise to update more often so my entries aren't so huge.. because it's probably another excuse why I haven't blogged. Well, lets just say this, my trip was short and sweet.. I was so glad I was able to go 2 months earlier because I was able to relax and spend time with my family, catch up with friends and enjoy some things I love about Texas. But when I went this second time it was a WHOLE other story. I didn't even realize until about less than 24 hours before my flight that I was actually leaving.. pathetic right? Yeah I guess I wasn't really prepared either since I forgot several important babies need while packing. But I realized the 11 am is just as good as the 6 am and will definitely be shooting for a later flight than the earliest.

I was lucky because it was right around Alex's nap time and he fell asleep before the plan even took off, he did however wake up in the middle wanting to play and in desperate need of a diaper change.. and making me consider going to size 5 in diapers which is almost scary because then I only have size 6 after that.. what do you when you have a big kid! After all that was handled he watched some shows on the computer that I lugged along and fell back to sleep an hour or so after the flight. So all in all it was a great flight and the flight attendant doted on how handsome and happy he was.

After I got off the plane is when all the fun and craziness began.. but no worries, Alex did a whole lot of this the entire trip, sadly I was lucky to get 5 hours every night because I was so busy getting things done (probably why you don't see any pictures of me)

I guess I didn't realize that my cousin's whole wedding was really going to take much of my time and it was going to be so hot there. I had checked the weather and everything and for some reason I still packed a few winter thing thinking it would cool down. Nope I ended up buying more unneeded summer things to get him by for the 5 days I was there. I love how the weather is completely different every where, I left and it was nice on Halloween and blazing hot in Texas.. and you know what I come home to! This...

AH! Kind of unexpected and a little cold since I had got use to the 80s there. At least I was smart and packed Alex some winter clothes to change into on the plane.. I'm always trying to be prepared! I spent tons and TONs of time with family and got to see everyone which is pretty much the most important thing. I got to enjoy Halloween with my cousins who hung out with me until I went to bed and they went out to a few bars dressed as The Hair Dresser Police, Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, and The Hulk transforming... I laughed so hard because my cousin Josh who was the hair police had the best costume and I loved the wig. I thought it was hilarious that Amy thought that was John because I could only imagine what he'd look like and what I'd have to do to talk him into it.

I spent some times with my parents who got to enjoy Alex and see how big he had got, but I promised my mom I wouldn't post any pictures of her because she has no make-up on... lol if you know me I'm the same way too. I got to see the best dog on this earth. MY DOG.. Blackie who although is getting old is still pulling it out and doing well.

Did I mention the wedding was beautiful? I had SOOOO much fun and danced and sang and ate and danced some more.. I'm so glad Melissa is a part of our family she is SO sweet and awesome. I've got so much to say about I figured I used the pictures to talk about all the fun things that went on.

Beautiful centerpiece isn't it? Gave me some ideas for my sealing!

So they signed the ketubah (marriage contract), raised the huppah (symbolizes the home the couple will build together), exchanged rings, and stomped on the glass, but the wedding's not over yet! You always got to do the Hora (chair dance) probably my favorite part of the wedding!!

This is Kirk's (my cousin) Grandmother and Danny dancing, she's 93 years old and stuck it out for the ENTIRE wedding. I wish I could of made it as long as her, probably would of if I didn't have someone baby-sitting Alex but man I looked at all the photos and she's actually there until the END!

Alex loves my entire family, I mean loves everyone and will play with anyone in a 2 foot radius. But he got really attached to my cousin Josh because Josh always wanted to play and Alex just had so much fun!

That's Josh doing an up-do for a class he teaches for L’Oreal, he's not only a teacher for them he does AMAZING hair.. and I wish he lived here so I could have him do my hair all the time. I'm so proud of him, he's come so far and made us all so proud!

Monday I spent time with one of my friends Jessica who had here baby about two months ago, I got to see how big Braylon got in that time and he's still super adorable, I wanted to just take him home!! Alex was really obsessed with Braylon, and I was kind of surprised at first how he acted. He was talking and all he wanted to do was touch him!

Braylon is a little freaked out because I don't think he's seen someone close to his size and trying to attack him. Oh and Thank You Rae for the adorable outfit that I forgot you bought.. even though it didn't really fit (my fault) it worked great for Dallas.

And not only does Alex put his feet in his mouth, he TRIES to put John's toes and my toes in his mouth.. but he likes babies too. I don't mind the whole his toes.. but we walk on our feet YUCK! Lol.. And trust me you know when Alex has your toes.. you can feel his wonderful teeth. He actually tries to put my nose and John's hands in his mouth! Ugh! And he's crawling.. man maybe I should say that is making me exhausted. He only does it at our house so far because anywhere else he wants to play with the carpet... I think he's only crawling because he knows thats the only way to get his toys. My cousin Kim is partially deaf and we talked about Baby Sign Language.. I think I might try it.

Alex and I were happy to get home because even though it was a short trip we both missed John, and every time I said daddy Alex would smile and clap! He was so ready to be with his dad.
Well, that's about it for now.. I have tons more to blog about but I promised myself I save them for other entires.. I can't wait to go back to Dallas in a few more months!!

P.S. Guess who is teething again? Yep, we're on tooth number 6.. lucky me.

A little bit of this and that

So this is going to be short and sweet. My trip was fabulous and I promise to blog all about it and the wonderful temperature difference from Texas to Utah, but ever since I have been home have literally never been home! We are doing our new photos with this awesome photographer I found and I've been dealing with outfits, getting things back in order since I left (cleaning, mail.. blah blah things John forgot to do, men!) and Alex getting all over the place he's really getting so close to full on crawling ( he knows what to do, but is like a snail) it's nuts and it sure as heck keeps me busy!

But in the mean time...

A very happy baby ready to get on the plane and clapping as we wait...

**And no this is not John lol but it'd be hilarious if it was

My crazy family on Halloween which I LOVE to death (they definitely put the fun in Halloween)

A beautiful wedding of two people who are perfect for each other

I have tons to talk about but I thought this could be a fun teaser in the mean time..

But I have to be up for church in 5 1/2 hours and I have no idea why I picked now to do this.. oh wait I know. Cause this is the only time I have both my boys asleep. Whew.

Happy Halloween

So I really didn't realize until about 2 o'clock this afternoon that I was going to be leaving in less than 24 hours to go to Dallas. It's been so wild around here with 2 Halloween parties, packing, and getting stuff for trick-or-treaters!

But to make this fast short and sweet... here's what my little pumpkin was this year.

Drum roll please.....

I thought this was the best costume ever and I feel completely in love with it. I love Tom Arma's designs.. his costumes are always so amazing! I got the idea from the post when I was talking about Baby Sinclair from the TV Show Dinosaurs. I wish I could of only found this costume in adult size for John.

Boo Boo just loved his costume. Sadly it wasn't cold for once this Halloween. Lucky me.

But sadly this is what I will be missing out on while I'm at a wedding and spending time with family.

(No I didn't forget my husband, I figured you knew DUH!) Metallica BOX SEATS! UGH! John won these and they HAD to come into town while I was gone. What losers.

And poor Alex is cutting his 5th tooth (mom just knew it, she's so lucky right before a trip) and has an ear infection to top it all off. But thank goodness I caught it in time and the doctor said he should be fine for the flight. Now lets just have an awesome trip both ways like last time. Here he is exhausted and so ready for bed, the milk always does him in.

I'll have plenty to update with family, a crazy Jewish wedding and the wonderful heat.

But in the mean time have a happy, safe Halloween everyone. =)

Clapper

Well life around my home hasn't really slowed down very much, and I feel like cleaning my house has turned into this huge struggle especially now that I will be leaving this week. The weird thing is I was counting down the days for my first trip to Dallas and I didn't even realize the 2nd trip was even coming.

I thought I'd talk about Alex's and his crawling.. well I need to confess something really. Remember how I talked about being worried about him crawling and not knowing what I was going to do with myself? Well because of that I haven't put him on the floor much to practice. I know I know.. Leah wake up! It's going to happen either way.. I'm just delaying the inevitable! I know he'd probably be all over the place by now but then I'd have to do the following, clean every day because I hate filth, watch him constantly, and probably lose my mind trying worrying about what he's going to try to put in his mouth. But I've decided to be a normal mother and let him crawl, I've seen him do all the motions he just needs a little practice. I just don't want him to grow up!!

John has decided to finally get his act together and decorate the outside of the house for Halloween. I still haven't posted some of the inside pictures but I figured I'd add both when John got all the outside decorations together. We even had all the neighborhood kids sitting outside watching us putting decorations out (ok let's be honest I was chatting it up with the girls) and they were "oohinng and ahhingg" and some were even scared. It was cute and I think John got a kick out of it.

Speaking of the girls, I've found another positive thing about Provo. Probably the only reason I haven't driven John nuts about moving somewhere else is because of all the nice ladies in the neighborhood! Everyone is so nice and inviting, and we get together a lot during the week. It helps me keep busy and really makes the time go by, and they all have such adorable kids! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't make friends around here yet.

Alex's has learned to pull my hair in public and laugh so hard about it when I so "ouch" that I hear something from at least two or three people about how funny he is. That and when I update my blog he always feels the need to help me type about half of my post which causes me to do lots of spell and grammar checks. He continues to throw himself towards the computer even if he's on the opposite side of the couch. I swear I regulate this kid but nothing helps.. he just knows what the computer is!

Oh ready to get a nice wonderful laugh out of this? Ok well it's not actually that funny, at least not to me but I think Alex has a molar tooth coming in. Lucky me right? If it's not one thing with this kid it's another! I haven't even really gotten a break from the top two! Sometimes I wish babies were born with teeth, and then I realize I would of never breast feed. Why couldn't I be lucky like Mandy and Alex be like Mads and wait until he was almost a year to get his first!

Everything is happening early for Alex and as great as most of your people think it is, I feel like it's going by to fast and he's growing up way to quickly! Ok, enough of the depressing moodiness from me.. here's something cute I'd though I'd share.

FHE

Well Family Home Evening has gotten a lot more fun since Alex was born.. now don't get me wrong it's not that it wasn't fun before he got here but it so much more fun being able to involve him in everything!

Activity this week, carving pumpkins! One of my favorite things to do, and I'm usually pretty good at it. Every year John and I carve our own pumpkins, but I think this year we are going to go up and beyond and do a bunch because they are so much fun!

Last Year..

You can't see them very well but I did a crazy pumpkin face and John did a two-faced guy.

This year's theme.. "The Nightmare before Christmas" you know Christmas is coming up and I love the movie! i watch it every Halloween and Christmas!

Before

And like I said I love FHE because we always get Alex involved in on all the fun stuff, he was dying to play with all the pumpkin guts but there was no way I was letting that happen. I knew Alex & John would have a baby food fight in my kitchen and then they'd both have to clean up. And knowing them it'd never happen.

And even though I won't be here this year the guys in the neighborhood want to get together and do a Haunted House fot the kids.. and since we have such awesome Halloween stuff who do you think volunteered their husband first? Yep! I know John will probably sulk otherwise cause he knows how much we both love Halloween.

After

Only a little over a week until it's here and I get to go to a fun Halloween Party before we leave on Friday! I'm so excited to take Alex around in his costume, especially since it's gotten cold!
